    Latest CX-5 review

Would have been perfect with a 6 speed manual with AWD and the 2.5 in GT trim.

    2016 Feature upgrade

Most of these factory systems with big names on them don't sound nearly as good as even low-mid end aftermarket. They just pay for names so you'll go "Oooh!" Bose has always been sub par anyway, and H&K sold out long ago. H&K stopped being good when they bought Infinity (whom they ruined) and...

    2013 CX-5 AC Not Working

I wonder if it's the same AC compressor that my 09 Mazda 5 had. Those were notorious for going out. Can you see it? Does it say Panasonic on it?

    CX5- body panel material?

The entire unibody is steel on the 370Z. The doors, hood, and hatchback are aluminum.

Few general questions about 2016 CX-5

No. It was an 82. It was a 4.1L V8 that made 125hp. Cadillac had Premium Gasoline Only stickers all over it. It was a 9.5:1 CR, which is not high at all. There was no mechanical reason that the car required premium fuel. I never put premium in it (I was 16), drove it for years, and it was fine...

Few general questions about 2016 CX-5

I've done a lot of fuel injection tuning with air cooled engines, so I should expand upon the whole octane thing. A higher octane rating in fuel is related to the point at which it will combust. The higher the rating, the more spark and compression you need to ignite it. This is why high...

Few general questions about 2016 CX-5

    1. No. 2. Not likely. 3. Claybar as needed (do the plastic bag test). I wax typically once every couple of months. 4. Hand rest?

I don't listen to the radio.

Updating the firmware from V.51 to V.55 on your own?

This is the correct way to do it.

Updating the firmware from V.51 to V.55 on your own?

No. Read that stuff again in more detail. Windows uses carriage returns that Linux doesn't understand. If you try to save a Linux script in Notepad, in Windows it will look fine, but in Linux everything will be on a single line. You will either have to use the file that he hosted (DO NOT open...

Oh wow. I didn't know this. Learn something new every day I guess. :)

Nail puncture - should I replace the tires ?

They used a patch plug then. That's the right way to do it. I put around 40K on a tire that I had that done to due to a nail before I sold the car. No issues. It'll be fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

Updating the firmware from V.51 to V.55 on your own?

OH - I should also note that if you are running OSX and you extract these things to ZIP files to USB sticks, you'll have to remove all of the stupid hidden .* files that OSX puts on the drive. For example, if you extract tweaks.sh to the USB stick, OSX will create a hidden file called...

Updating the firmware from V.51 to V.55 on your own?

Don't worry about trying to do that. If you aren't very familiar with Linux you'll likely brick that thing trying to make the necessary changes on your own. If you've upgraded to V55, there is a plug and play script that someone made called "tweaks.sh" that you just put on the root of a freshly...

Updating the firmware from V.51 to V.55 on your own?

Wrong. I did mine last week. And applied the hacks that let you change the wallpaper, removes the restriction for listening to text messages while driving, and puts a sub 1-second auto kill on the "Don't use this while driving" nav screen.

Probably why they're still selling on eBay. :p I wonder what the chances are of getting a local dealer to match or beat their prices.

    Mazda Mobile Start smartphone app

Didn't see that. That's weird. If I saw a list of accessories there and that was classified under the general "Remote Starter" heading, especially with that picture, I would look somewhere else to buy it. They might want to rethink doing it that way, especially since they're two totally...

    Mazda Mobile Start smartphone app

That link is just for the standard remote starter. That isn't the same as MMS, and won't work with the cell phone app. If you don't have a factory alarm, the only thing extra that you need to install is the hood switch (instructions in the PDF I linked to).
