    Brake slider pin lubricant

What are you guys using for brake slider pin lubricant? I always used permatex caliper lube ( green slim), but it makes the rubber sleeves swell. I heard high heat anti-seize works. The manual was never clear on my MX5. Thanks.

New Seats - Cobra Imola Pro

I had these sitting around from my MX5 so I bought some seat mounts for the 2 and installed them. Sorry for the crappy phone pics. The driver side is on a slider and has good clearance. The passenger seat is fixed mount and touches the pillar, but otherwise fits with no other issues. The...

Finally Got The 2 On The Track

I had a chance to run the 2 at Barber's Motorsport Park last weekend. I was surprised how easy the car was to drive since it was my first time driving a front wheel vehicle on the track. The car has Bilsteins, corksport rear bar, camber bolts, XP8 brake pads and 205/50/15 RE11As on some Konig...

    Great Time to buy a 2014 Mazda2

I was just looking at Edmunds rebates/incentive and they show a $2K dealer incentive and $750 owner loyalty incentive. The downside is it will hurt resale to the current owners

    Odd Suspension Noise

I was driving to work this morning about 5:30 and it was the first time I intentionally got on the brakes hard before making a left hand turn. I heard a weird noise that almost sounded like the front sub frame shifted. It was a loud clunk across the bottom of the car and not just one side. I...

    Ford ecoboost 1.oL

Did anybody else read about Ford's 1.0L turbocharge ecoboost motor offering for the Fiesta? I certainly wish Mazda had something similar. This car woud be a lot more fun with an extra 24-25 hp/tg. Just throwing that out for comment.

    Interesting Brake Information/Track Pad Recomendations?

I would have thought we could use Fiesta brake pads based on the 2, but I received this information from Cobalt. "On the Fiesta, the spec is for a much thicker pad (same pad shape), at 17.5mm, versus the 14.8mm that Mazda specs for the Mazda2...might be a different caliper body and disc...

    Mpg

I wasn't sure which section to post this in, but I drove about 500 miles last week down to FL and was a little disapointed with my MPG. The car average around 32-33MPG running at 75mph which is pretty much the traffic flow rate. I was hoping to get the EPA rating of around 35. Sure it would...

    Sparco Seat Base

Sparco offers a 600 series seat base for the Mazda 2. Has anybody used one? It look like it will accomodate either a fixed mount or a slider option which can be used with side mounts. It looks like you can also configure it to use a bottom mount seat, but I already have some side mount seats...
