    LED Headlights for CX-5 2014-2016

No, your HID bulbs have a D4S socket while the Halogen bulbs are H11. The voltage is also totaly different.

    LED Headlights for CX-5 2014-2016

These are fixed Halogen projectors, not auto-adapting/leveling HIDs. Besides, the first line in the description says: "NOT COMPATIBLE ON MODELS W/ FACTORY HID HEADLIGHTS" So I guess that is your answer...

What's the best Halogen upgrade for Non-Tech high and low beams???

Why do you say HID are not much better? Have you looked at my review (click link)? There are a few down sides, but they are MUCH better than LED, have an almost perfect beam spread (look at my pictures), and last a whole lot longer than high intensity halogens.

Auxbeam F-16 Series LED Headlight Bulbs

The statement in red is exactly the reason for the backlash you say you received. It is by far the worst quality a bulb can have, and negates any increase in brightness. Most people don't realize that bleeding above the cut-off has very little to do with the bulb, and mostly with the projector...

Morimoto HID kit from TRS, review

No canbus required, only the relay. As for the bulb type, the names have changed since my install. You can look in my review, I wrote down the proper bulb to use using the old names. You can then ask the great customer service at TRS what it translates to in the new nomenclature.

Look at the title of the thread (and read the first few posts)... I'm the OP!

Morimoto HID kit from TRS, review

HIDs are more efficient than halogens. This means that for the same power (Watts), they emit more visible light and less heat. So melting the housing is very unlikely unless a catastrophic electrical failure occurs (short). Nobody can guaranty a failure won't happen, but buying a good kit at...

Morimoto HID kit from TRS, review

You can also look at my post #23. Note that when I mention "DSP", I mean "Ballast". "DSP" was the ballast model... I agree with runtohell121 here. A halogen bulb filament and a HID arc are very similar in shape, size and location so they are interchangeable to some degree in a projector. The...

    How common are Mazdas?

Here in Qubec (Canada) they are everywhere and have been for over a decade. I see several CX-5s during my short commute every day, and even more 3s. There are 4 large dealerships 20 minutes from where I live. Definitely a love affair going on between Quebec and Mazda. My last car was a yellow...

How to remove wax stains from black trim?

I've tried oil but it just makes the wax transparent for a while. The wax eventually comes back. I now use a big white pencil eraser. Works like a charm and takes about 15 minutes to do the entire trim. BTW, wax does not wash off in the rain (it's strongly hydrophobic). It was applied to the...

Maybe moving to CX5 from V6 sedan- seeking comment on acceleration ?

For what its worth, I agree with ALafya that a CUV won't be any safer than a sedan. Crash tests perform about the same. The CUV might give you better visibility and awareness, but higher center of gravity makes it more prone to roll. Sort of cancels out.

wiper replacement - are you happy with OEM blades?

I use Aquapel once a year in fall (amazing stuff), and also have RainX fluid (although I don'f feel it does much). No problems here. In fact, the Aquapel is so good I barely need to use washer fluid at all...

AWD vs FWD for "enthusiast" driving

I've driven FWD with snow tires (they are mandatory here in winter, AWD is not) all my life except these last couple years. My winter conditions are as bad as they get. I've never gotten stuck in a dangerous situation, I've never been in any accident, I've never even slid off the road. And I've...

+1. Absolutely! I could not have put it any better!

AWD vs FWD for "enthusiast" driving

Your comparison is not exactly fair. You drove an AWD with AWD capability disabled. Not a FWD. You were still dragging around the extra weight of the AWD hardware so you basically had the worst of both worlds.

AWD vs FWD for "enthusiast" driving

I agree with the article. Unless you're really high on the enthusiast scale (like Chris!) I doubt you'll get much out of it in a warm climate. I do find that it helps in corners a bit on snow, because it balances under and over steer. But it's marginal. On dry and wet roads I only notice a...

AWD vs FWD for "enthusiast" driving

FWD will have a bit more in terms of acceleration. AWD *might* help a bit in tight cornering. So both have advantages in terms of "enthusiast" driving. It depends on what is more important to you. With the additional MPG hit, and possible additional maintenance down the road, I'd go with FWD in...

Recall: Possible Loss of Steering Control

"Approximately 578 vehicles in the U.S. are affected"! I knew Mazda wasn't as popular in the US as in Canada, but that is quite low!
