For those having Transmission Issues with their CX-5

jfras, I forgot to mention in my previous post that another Mazda technician informed me that there are two possible fixes to this problem. One possible fix is a software update and a second fix is the replacement of the valve body. In my case, (based on the CEL codes) the fix was to replace the...

I dont have any additional info. I dont have the tomtom nav system so i havent had this update performed by Mazda. I was in a rush to pick up my CX-5 after having it serviced for a transmission issue, so I didn't ask additional questions about MSP42. I suggest you contact your local dealer and...

    Play in rear-view mirror?

My rear view mirror had some play in it when i first got it. Mentioned it to the dealer when i took it in for another minor issue, and they tightened the mirror using the adjustment screw on the back side. It hasn't happened again and it been a year since the first time. It's an easy fix.

Ourlee: Agreed...while my CX-5 was in the shop for TSB fixes yesterday, I got a Buick Enclave as a loaner. After returning it and getting back into my CX-5 I could definitely tell the difference. BTW, here is my analysis of the CX-5 road noise compared to some other vehicles.

    Rear Parking Sensors - good?

I recommend getting the rear parking sensors installed. I was in a rush and distracted and backed into my other vehicle. Minor bumper scuff. An audible alarm from the rear parking sensors would likely have saved me from this embarrassment. The dealer installed parts + labor cost is ~$800. I...

    Hood and Mirror Vibration

The dealership performed the driver's side mirror TSB fix yesterday. I had to take it in twice: 1st for them to disassemble the mirror and determine exactly which kind of bracket/part to order as per the TSB, and the 2nd time for them to install the new bracket. They expected it to take 2 hours...

    All Weather Mats...Which?

Went with soft cargo liner and WeatherTech floor mats. Very pleased with both. WeatherTech covers about half the dead pedal and allows access to the fuel door switch. Husky completely covers the dead pedal (good design IMO) and you have to cut out an opening to access the fuel door switch (bad...

    Soft Cargo Liner Anyone?

The surface is textured, so it's not slick. The dogs don't mess with it at all and their claws haven't damaged it.

    Soft Cargo Liner Anyone?

I have the soft cargo liner in the rear with the fold down bumper protecter. Got it primarily because our dogs sit in the rear. It covers the back of the rear seats so when we fold down the rear seats the entire exposed surface is covered in the back/rear. It is a snug fit all around. The velcro...
