Mazdaspeed Protege stalls after acceleration and putting in neutral

Hi all - hoping someone can help me with some ideas. All I have modded is an Injen intake. After heavy acceleration (WOT here you can hear the turkey) if I throw the car to neutral, the RPMs will drop down to 0 where it may/may not stall out. Any ideas on what to look for? TIA!

Try cleaning the MAF and looking for vacuum leaks. Reset the computer after you do this

Check your neutral switch.

On my 5-speed P5, the computer needs to know when I'm in neutral so it can turn on the IAC to keep idle speed.

If I'm in gear with 0% throttle, the fuel injectors are shut off.

I'm not sure if that applies to the Mazdaspeed or an automatic though??

Make sure BPV is recirculated or your MAF is relocated if your BOV is VTA. I had the same issue with weapon r hardpipes and SRI until I replaced my couplers with silicone and t bolt clamps and my EGR valve with a canadian replacement as the oem USDM egr valve was leaking under boost. I assumed this was a specific issue with mine and not a common problem but I tried three different valves that would seep under boost pressure with a smoke machine. Also make sure if you ever messed with the AAS or throttle set screw those are calibrated properly.
