This has me a bit perplexed. I'm trying to narrow down the factors, and it's really odd that it would make the sound while turning to one side but not the other while standing still. I'm assuming that it makes the sound after you have already turned the wheel and it is not moving at that point...

It was definitely oil, but to be fair, I did also service my already pretty clean EGR valve and functional PCV valve. My thought is, if you have a piston pulling during a intake phase and the valve is closed, where is it going to come from. I may be completely wrong and still be missing 2...

So you can be not moving, with your wheel turned almost one steering wheel rotation to the left, and it makes that noise?

Well, since my car isn't smoking anymore (which was a very noticable cloud of smoke before, and now nothing), I'll wait to see if it's burned any oil when I go to fill up again, and then we'll know if there's any other problems.

Well, I go through a tank of gas every three days, so I'll post back on Wednesday and we'll see, eh? I went from spitting out a bunch of smoke to none, and I did everything that caused it to do it before (foot off gas deaccelerating at high RPM).

Want to buy a used AWR front motor mount? (hear ya) I just took mine off because the front and rear were just too much... and the front is soooo much easier to change.

And do you hear the sound while turning the wheel, or after the wheel has been turned?

Do you hear the noise when it's just partly turned to the left, turned far to the left, or when the steering wheel won't turn any farther?

Do you have to be moving, or is it just when you turn the wheel to the left? How do your shocks react when you push the front of the car down? Does it spring back up evenly and not bounce? You can't tell if it's the driver's side or rear motor mount? Can you push the motor around to see...

Me? No, letting it sit overnight didn't really make a difference for me. That's a good point, my seals weren't actually leaky, it was the intake stroke trying to pull through a closed valve that drew the oil through.

IMHO, There's a reason why all cars (AFAIK manufacturered these days) use fuel injection, it maximizes both performance and fuel efficiency. It just doesn't make sense to me to switch.
