Do you think my clutch is shot???

Glad it's resolved for you. I think the prior owner couldn't drive stick---there's no reason to see less than 50k out of a clutch. Of course, if they were drag racing all the time, that might explain it. Regardless, I'm glad it's taken care of for you.

Do you think my clutch is shot???

Ummm....ok. So take it to another dealer. Clearly you're still in the warranty. Just tell them it grinds when you shift. See what they say. Or, just pay the $85 and move on.

Do you think my clutch is shot???

Why on earth would you pay to have it inspected? It has a 36k warranty. Just tell them it's shifting funny, grab a tech to ride with you and see what they have to say. Sometimes feeding them too much information is just as bad as not enough---i.e., if you try to diagnose the problem for...

    Tire Pressure w/ Blizzaks

I run mine at 35psi. I rotated this time around and had a shimmy that showed up around 70mph at varying times. Some times you would run over a piece of pavement and no shimmy. Coming back over the EXACT same section the next day and it would shimmy. Weird. I ended up rotating the tires...

rfols! Dealer 30,000 mile recommended service $600+

Yikes! Even $325 is too much. I replaced my coolant and flushed for $30, replaced spark plugs $10, replaced PCV valve $5, Replaced oil with Mobil 1 and stock filter $24, Air filter $10, Redline fuel injector cleaner $10, cleaned throttle body $3, rear barke pads $35 and rotated my tires for...

    Snow Tires

Blizzak WS-50 is you receive serious snow totals. Michelin X-Ice if you don't get *that* much snow and have ice to contend with. I have the Blizzaks on our P5 and the X-ice on the Accord. Curt

    Best AllSeason Tires?

Give it 10,000 miles or so. I bought these back in June and have put about 10k on them. They are good in the rain and a decent fair weather performer. Horrible in snow; however, I don't care as I run Blizzaks in the winter. What I think it bad about them is that they are LOUD. When I first...

    is this normal for protege5?

If you live on the coast, or in the rust belt where it snows, you should expect this. My 2002.5 with 35k has it. I've tried very lightly sanding some parts, but it comes back. Curt

    Checking codes---CEL related

I don't have the roofrack on anymore---it's a higher pitched whistle. I unhooked the battery for 5min. and hooked it back up. Went for a drive and ran it pretty hard. No CEL. Let's hope it stays that way. Curt

how much warranty left and what to look for when getting *pre-owned* P5?

My 2002.5 came with the 4yr, 50k warranty. Clock started ticking on 7/24/02. Curt

    Checking codes---CEL related

Really?! That'd be nice! I'm going to go out after work and start the car and immediately shut it down and then restart. If it doesn't do it, I'll head to autozone to have it "read." Where's a good site to x-ref the codes at? Thanks! Curt

    Checking codes---CEL related

You're kidding? I thought you could use the key and do some funky business with it and get the CEL to flash. You'd get a code from that and then x-ref with someone or the shop manual? That's the way it was on my Maxima. Not on this car? If that's the case, I'm going to unhook the battery...

    Checking codes---CEL related

Ok, I know someone's going to flame me. Either I'm not good at searching, or it's not there. The former of the two is most likely....anyway. My 2002.5 P5 (autotragic)wasn't running great. You'd push the gas pedal down just a bit and not much would happen---it would hesitate a bit. I also...

On P5 what tools do I need to change pads?

Yo I just replaced mine on my 2002.5 P5 with 31.5k. The rears wore faster than the fronts. I have gone though not even half of the fronts'. The rears were almost totally gone. I am absolutely convinced the rears were "dragging." I adjusted the caplier this time when I was done so that the...
