    2016~2023 CX-9 Brake Life

Bringing this one back from the dead... Wife said her brakes were making a noise so I checked them, they do have 158,000 miles. Pulled the fronts off and there was still enough pad that the line down the center was there. I decided to change them since I was there and winter was coming - no...

    CX-9 OEM Trailer Hitch, wiring?

Not sure why it is there unless it is just for gusseting, but once it's on you can't see it.

Ambient Temperature for Recommended Tire Pressure

The ambient temperature is whatever the outside temperature is. So in the summer, July, it may be 90* and you would set them at 34#. Then in December when it's 20* you would adjust them to 34 again. It will always fluctuate so keeping them at 34 exactly will never happen day to day. The...

    Factory Tint (2012)

Can't confirm but I would bet one of the police departments in the area has the meter to measure it. Or depending where you live and have safety inspections they probably will as well.

    Lock doors while doors open

I don't like that either. Only way I have found around it is to hold the door switch for the interior lights then it will lock. But that will only work if that one door is open. Good thing about the remote is that it works from a distance.

Adding Navigation and roof rack to 2015 CX-9 Grand Touring questions?

The roof racks are easy to put on. There are four or six covers that come off and the end pieces set down in these and screw in. Takes about 20 minutes. My wife wanted them because she thought it looked like an old lady car without them.

    Intake Valve Carbon Deposits

DI doesn't spray into the intake tract so none of the fuel (seafoam) hits the valves so it wouldn't help. You could spray so,e through the intake so it would though. Also some engines are starting to co e with dual DI and regular injection so this could be the solution to deposits.

    Intake Valve Carbon Deposits

Yeah, I wasn't sure if the fluffy stuff was a boundry or an extra layer. I haven't done an analysis, yet. I'm still one of those that change every 3500-4000 miles and I measure how much comes out. So far at my 18,500 mile change I'm still getting out close to the 5.5qts that goes in and I'm...

    Intake Valve Carbon Deposits

Don't know if anybody has a fix but I would venture to say in a handful of years they'll all have it. As far as warranty it all depends on the dealer and what fails. I have a catch can on my F150 and depending on the weather and how I drive the amount of crud caught varies but it's never a lot...

Key Fob doesn't work when vehicle turned on

Ive owned 5 cars with remote entry and none of them have worked with the vehicle running except for the tailgate release in my F150.

New rear shocks installed. Pics. Went with KYB 349070

That looks like way too much work. I removed just enough of the fasteners to be able to get a socket with a 24" extension powered by my impact gun to the nut on the shock. Only took about an hour to do both rears.

New rear shocks installed. Pics. Went with KYB 349070

I did mine about a month ago. I understand why the mounts are hidden, being an SUV, but man it makes it a lot more time consuming. Nice write up!

    Missing brake fluid cap

I'd replace the fluid as well. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, absorbs water, which will ruin the fluid that is in the system.

Wind Noise - CX-9 - Front driver & pass windo

You can't just say that! :D We need to know what it was.

    2016 CX-9 performance upgrades?

There is plenty of room for improvement in any mass produced vehicle. These are made for the masses where people want to get from A to B. Intake and exhaust noise is tuned out, suspensions is made soft so the majority of the people that buy them will be happy. If Mazda built the engine right a...
