    Weak a/c

Is their anything that can be done about this? Once the weather hits mid to high 80s the a/c can scarcely keep up. I've heard of problems with the 3s a/c being weak but I'm uncertain about the Protege. I guess what I'm asking is if this is normal or should I invest in finding the problem...

POLL: Which color should I paint my wheels?

Even though it's very Subaru I'd do them bronze.

How to: Fix your trunk leak!

Here I was thinking I was the only one with this problem. Thanks for the write up, I'll have to tackle this one in the coming weeks.

    Should I swap or wait?

Wait. Do it right and you only have to do it once.

    Identify my stupid brake problem

I appreciate the help and I realize it can be a pain in the ass to diagnose problems over the internet, but there's no need for e-yelling. :) I ended up working last weekend so I couldn't get anything done. I've got an extra long weekend this time around though so I'll get it done. I just...

    Identify my stupid brake problem

I have a slight development. Someone had suggested the caliper could be sticking. Since WD-40 is the ultimate temporary fix to all annoying squeaks and rattles, I decided to squirt just a little bit in between the caliper and pad. It may have been a stupid idea but it's had the brakes mostly...

    K&N filter=wow

I've got one as well. I felt slight gains, but I expect that's because when I bought the car the filter was FILTHY. I also noticed the sound above 3.5k rpms is just slightly deeper. The oil issue isn't really a big deal. From what I've heard, that rumor comes from people over-oiling it when the...

    Identify my stupid brake problem

Lots of good info, thanks guys. I never heard of rotors being glazed before, but it does sound a lot like what's happening. I'll attack it this weekend. For the future, what causes this sort of thing? Cheap pads? Sitting around without use? Combination of both?

    Identify my stupid brake problem

Pads came on the car, I'm not sure what brand they are. There were some little irritating metal wires, so if that's an anti-squeal shim then yes. I greased around the pads and wires. I first had whatever rotors came on the car, currently some generic mid-range brand. I just tightened the lugs...

    Identify my stupid brake problem

Potentially stupid question warning: Is there any way to be sure they're glazed? They do feel almost glass-like to the touch. I don't go around touching rotors on a regular basis so I don't know if that's normal or not. :)

    Identify my stupid brake problem

This will likely be long, I'll sum it up at the bottom for the lazy. This is a strange one people. It's stumped a mechanic and my neighbor who's worked on semis for the last 30 years. Granted, they only had one shot at it each. I just don't want to keep paying someone to take shots in the dark...

What tint colour on a Silver hatch ?

Any tint not black is ugly in my opinion. You may be able to pull off dark blue.
