With the noise/vibration you described, it sounds like more than a head gasket issue. Especially with you using coolant at such a quick rate. Did the vibration continue after the first time? Sounds like coolant possibly got on top of a piston and bent a rod. Sounds like a reman engine would...

Well since I spent $100 on the 4 bulbs I put in it, its staying that way for awhile(enguard) My biggest hesitation was I see alot of the cool kids running around with HID kits that look like they flicker at a high rate. I don't know if they buy cheap kits, or if thats the nature of aftermarket...

When I bought our 2011 I read about this issue, and that Mazda had extended the warranty. I need to follow up and see if it has ever been replaced. My wife drives this everyday, and we have twins on the way. I know they won't replace it if there is not a failure currently, but it helps to know...

Forgot about this thread... I have silverstar ultra in the high beams and silverstar xenon in the low beams, much better than they were. I may change it to HIDs one day, but I'm leaving well enough alone for now.

Thanks, looking at pictures of them... You can see a difference mainly on the r/s mat where the outer angle looks to be cut just a bit different, but not much.

My program button was mounted inside that recess as well. Well hidden, it took me a minute to find it. So yeah I'm looking forward to that remote. I actually felt confident enough to order a second from another source. I can't wait to find out.

So, maybe I got lucky. I went by my wife's office, and was able to find the program button and hood safety. I didn't pull any panels, but that's enough to tell me it might all be there. I hope that remote gets here quick fast and in a hurry.
