Im thinkin miata as well. From what ive read over the years they are pretty bullet proof. The 1.8 motor is apparently pretty strong.

would the AC compressor fit a p5?

Thank you all. Ya this makes more sense as i read this stuff..i noticed once that when i was revving it up it was squeeling really bad and there was a slight "burning rubber" smell..must have been the belt runnin along the metal :(...

Okay so i think i narrowed it down to the AC compressor. I replaced the belt..stil squeels, however the AC works just fine..which is extra confusing..however i think it may be the Pulley on the AC, anyone know of a how to for fixing it? i tried searching..but there are alot of belt threads :p...

dammit.. I replaced both belts and they still squeel..hit em both with belt conditioner crap...still squeeling..It is mostly only happening when the AC is on..So i know its somewhere in the AC compressor area..what do i look for?

FYI..i think i may end up just replacing the damn thing..the car has 110k miles on it..so its probrably due anyway..the belt isnt in poor condition but i noticed on some of the other threads about this problem is that it happens more when there is alot of humidity..and that has been the case...

So i recently replaced my alternator belt, it was totally shot...however..after putting on the new one and driving around for a few days im getting some rediculous belt squeel..I cannot figure out how to make it stop..I dont think its the alternator belt, i think its the one (outside) belt that...

does insurance cover that?
