    Feedback from Mazda2 owners

4yo 2011, >61,000 miles NY winters with winter tires commuter, no issues at all. Good little car with decent storage. Handles good. Finished 2 TSD rallies without problems. About a dozen autocross events and 2 track days. This car is my foul weather Miata substitute for fun. AC is a bit...

Mazda 2 is fun in so many ways...

OK, so my poison is autocross and I rock a 95 Miata for that in STS. That being said, the 2 is the bad weather autocrosser, so far yielding 2 first place finishes. On top of that, the Mazda 2 completed 2 TSD rallys in the past two years, finishing second in both. This year, my Navigator decided...

    Miata brake upgrade?

upgrade? My OEM pads lasted 45k miles including a few track days, Autocrosses and daily city driving and some road trips. Change the fluid to Castrol PRF if really anal about racing performance. Or is that SRF? About 90 a bottle. ATE is fine for me. The rears look like are good for another 25-50k.

You don't need wider wheels just throw on a set of RE-11As and embarrass everyone else in street class. Done. I recommend these tires because the Rivals are too much for factory wheel and they suck in the rain. The REs come in 195-50-15 just right:)

    Stock Brake Pads

My OEM brake pads lasted 45,000 miles. I measured the rotors and they were not warped but the had deposits which caused pulsation. I replaced the rotors with NAPA 90 for the pair, and OEM pads again. The shoes are just fine.

cold weather and a strange noise.

Did anyone try some Shin-Etsu grease? It is sold by Rosenthal Mazda and it fixed some stuff on my Miata like windows, header seal and sunroof seals on my DGF's 89 Civic Si.

Talk me out of Bilstein PSS-10

Thanks you folks, I got the Bilsteins and they are really good. Installed them, aligned the car, and succesfully completed a TSD Rally without testing the Corksport skid plate. They do change the dynamics of the car some, but the positives outweigh the negatives. The ride can get choppy at times...

EBC Greenstuff Disappointment...Considering Wilwood Big Brake Upgrade...

The EBC Green pads are an improvement on some cars or bikes that have aweful factory fitments. Mazda uses the Akebono pads for the Miata MX-5 and probably for the 2. They are better than most OEM stuff and some aftermarket stuff. On my NA Miata for autocross nothing beats the OEM pads up front...

TSD Rally in PA on November 23

Well, we did the rally. We managed to not max any control but two other Stock class drivers did better than us. 140 miles of paved and unpaved fun. The Mazda 2 was a fun car. I did not get to test the Corksport skid-plate but I felt better knowing that it was there. The newly installed Bilsteins...

CorkSport Knowledgebase Articles and Topics for the Mazda2

Derick, Got the skid tray for my 2, installed it yesterday and have a question: why were only 3 spacers provided when there are 5 attach points at the rear? i stacked up washers for now. Also the front brackets needed different spacers to clear the flare on the body structure.

TSD Rally in PA on November 23

This Rally is the succesor to the famous Pine Barrens Express. Some vids are on You Tube. This is at more relaxed pace and not in Cranberry Bogs or sinking white sands. The off road sections are mainly seasonal gravel road at low speeds. If you peeps do not want to come out and play, at least...

    snow tire fitment?

It may work. I tried 185-65-15 and they rubbed pretty bad. The bulges at the rear of the rear tires. I tried that size because it was the only one available in the tire I preferred.

    snow tire fitment?

It may rub at the rear tires when the suspension compresses.i think I tried a 65 and it rubbed quite a bit. I will check and get back.

OK, do I need to buy bumpstops, if so which ones? I have GC on the Miata Billies. The progressive ones.
