    CX-5 vs. CR-V and Escape

1.6 turbo requires premium gas (at least 5% extra, translates to 1-1.5 mpg)

    Mazda CX-5 sales numbers

where did you get "8000" number in Japan from? I was browsing Mazda's press release section and found this: [Domestic sales of key models in February 2012] Mazda2 (Demio): 5,905 units (up 13.6% year-on-year) AZ-Wagon: 2,791 units (up 32.8% year-on-year) Mazda3 (Axela): 1,742 units (up 11.5%...

    Coming soon.... my diesel

If they want to be successful they need to price it right. I'm looking at new Ford Escape pricing scheme...1.6 to 2.0 engine upgrade costs $1000, i-stop $295... it will be a worthy competition...hehe..once they start throwing in $1,500-$2,000 rebates

    Gas mileage question

do Canadian models come with i-stop? as for "improving numbers" i've got to be a little skeptical... it's always the same story... "not broken in yet" or my favorite "winter blend".... i dont think i have ever seen a thread where someone comes few months later and said "wow! after 5k miles my...

    Coming soon.... my diesel

"$3000 price difference wasn't enough to compensate for variances in fuel economy" i guess that's the major hurdle in making diesel popular in the US...overall lower base fuel prices make it tough to make a case for diesel. economy wise at least. Let's say you drive 18k miles/year and the...

    My CX-5 purchase

yeah... low end Subarus never had a wow factor, but after driving newest Froester i was just dissapointed with overall interior quality...imo they just went a bit too far with cost cutting there.

CX-5 crash and safety test results

it took japanese manufacturers 20 years to "catch up" (at least in concumers mind), 10 years for hyundai/kia... now, i wouldnt be surprised if in 5 years these chinese cars will start scoring best ratings. Just a side note....

    Extended Warranty

2 year "extended" for $1000 does not cover powertrain (as it's still covered by manufacturers warranty) --> at least that's how i read it. so you, for $500 extra get a full 1 year of additional warranty. I myself would be more interested in extended powertrain warranty than anything else.

no, i was just kidding... on the other hand... they missed their self imposed deadline - there were no "explanation" given to this PR stunt....

CX5 towing numbers Australia vs USA

lol... this is an interesting question, i'd like to see an "official" anwser to it... in the meantime, i have found this on honda forum: "This is probably because Americans are HUGE people. Honda USA was probably factoring in the towing capacity WITH the payload. If you drag 1500 pounds off the...

    Test drive Concerns for CX-5

i'd not compare them really, Q5 is not, by any mean a "perfect" car - it's got a long list of irritating things. But it's a very pleasurable experience to drive one. In CX-5 i didnt feel that. Just a solid mean of transportation, that will get a job done. Gives you that good feeling of getting a...

    Test drive Concerns for CX-5

I'm pretty sure, CX-5 (Touring) is the best choice in it's segment (when you need AWD, cargo space , utility) at the moment. What i mean by "best" is most economical to own over period of time as a primary consideration, with a reasonable amount of compromise when it comes to power, "fun" factor...
