I just got back from the tower lot and want to know before the claims adjuster comes to see the car. The tow truck driver and police officer both think it is totaled but there is no frame damage and nothing appears to have hit the engine. It starts and runs fine but over heats quick since the radiator is in 4 pieces. I just feel that with a KBB estimate of it being worth 14 in excellent condition (which it was, I take are of my baby) that there may be hope for her left. If anyone is wondering I hit something in the road (not sure what) and it threw me into the guard rail doing 70 on i70 outside of Indianapolis today and then spun me around and threw me head first back into the guard rail. Surprisingly though, I don't have a scratch. Stella (my 3) probably saved my life. (No airbag deployment either, strange to me).

Upon completing the change of my cabin air filters in my 2007 3, I noticed the display for the ambient air temperature is now blank. Does anyone know how to test if the sensor is bad or had a similar experience when they changed the filters? I am fine with replacing the sensor but the coincidence with replacing the cabin air filters which required a bunch of wiring to be disconnected and reconnected has me wondering if I have a bad connection. So before I shell out the cash for a new sensor, I would like more confidence that it is bad or at least eliminate the potential for a bad wiring connection.

I have a 2007 Mazda3 sedan with 103,000 miles. I was leaving town last Friday when the A/C quit. The light on the button illuminates but the condenser doesn’t engage. Other then that the car ran fine for 150 miles. Then Saturday the brake warning and air bag warning lights both came on. In addition my turn signal indicators dash lights stop working. (outside lights work fine) and the LCD ambient thermometer display isn’t working. (Radio lights in the same panel work fine.)

In reference to the brake warning light I check the fluid and the hand brake.
Thanks,

Hello,

I was trying to get other Mazda owners' opinions on the best synthetic wax I can get for my phantom blue hatchback at a reasonable price. I have seen a lot of people recommending Zaino around the web, but I am not interested in spending that much on detailing product(s).

Going by amazon reviews and other forums, it seems like my best options currently are

- Mothers Reflections or Mothers FX SynWax
- Mequiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0
- Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax

Also I've seen people have good results with Liquid Glass - although it seems to be an older, lesser known product and I am not sure as to whether it is designed to be more of a polish that is waxed over or a standalone wax.

Lastly, the car has never been clayed, something I also may look into. There seems to be the option of claying regularly, or using a paint cleaner like Mequiars Ultimate Compound or Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Clay bar, or both; are the liquids good alternatives to clay itself or should I use both?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Any suggestions on what to look for? I've searched the forum and found that the motor mounts seem to be a constant problem, but is there anything else? The 3s on my list to check out all are in the 60,000-80,000 mile range.
Any advice would be awesome. Thanks, guys!

You guys might be able to help me out. First post!

I have a 2008 Mazda3 and just recently put an SRI on. The SRI works great but starting the other day I started to hear a very loud high pitched whine coming from the black box on my throttle body. It's so loud I can even slightly hear it over the engine running when I'm in the car.

To make sure that it was coming from the throttle body I decided to unplug the throttle body connector while the car was in ACC mode (engine off). The sound abruptly stopped with a click. I then plugged the connector back in and went to look in the car and saw a check engine light. Did I just damage my throttle body? What the heck is this whining? Did adding the SRI do this? I'm pretty sure the throttle body didn't make any noise before I put the SRI on.

This caused 4 DTCs:
P2135 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch “A” / “B” Voltage Correlation
P0223 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor B Circuit High Input
P0222 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor B Circuit Low Input
P0123 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit High Input

I cleared the codes and they haven't returned yet. The car seems to drive fine. I can't really tell. Throttle response might have decreased but I could just be imagining it. Also I have 10,000 miles left on my warranty (extended TotalCare).

Any ideas?

So I have a 2007 Mazda 3, Hatchback, Grand Touring. There is some kind of rattle under the hood I can't find for the life of me. I thought it was the intake that goes in to the battery box, but after securing the tube and battery box (which was a little loose due to a broken clip), the rattle is still there!

It only happens at highway speeds, and then mainly when not following another vehicle. It sounds like plastic bumping against itself. The sound is coming from the driver's side, just in front of the dash, as best I can tell. I thought it may have been the shield that sits under the engine, but I tightened that and got a few more clips which were missing, but it is still there!

Anyone have any ideas out there? This is gonna kill the road trip potential for this summer...

So I had my regular oil change this morning from an outside garage. I opted to have it outside the Dealer since I don't want to leave the car overnight to them for just an oil change, considering its for the 35000km maintenance. Anyway, from what I read from the engine oil bottle that the guy from the garage used was a "20w-50". I've ran the car about 5kms after the oil change and it was normal, smoother ride to be more specific.

My question now is, will that type of engine oil do any harm to my engine in the long run or at least before i reach my 40000km service? Should I have it replaced immediately by an engine oil that was specified on the car manual? I've read that it's good for places with very hot climate and some said that it can "dangerously" go thin in extreme temperatures, thus my confusion now with this information.

Hope someone can clarify this. Thanks!
