There is some kind of rattle under the hood I can't find for the life of me. I thought it was the intake that goes in to the battery box, but after securing the tube and battery box (which was a little loose due to a broken clip), the rattle is still there!

It only happens at highway speeds, and then mainly when not following another vehicle. It sounds like plastic bumping against itself. The sound is coming from the driver's side, just in front of the dash, as best I can tell. I thought it may have been the shield that sits under the engine, but I tightened that and got a few more clips which were missing, but it is still there!

Anyone have any ideas out there? I'm basically starting this blog so I can keep track of my progress with the things I want to do to her and log the things that have been done.

With approximately 66,700 miles on the body, and about ~19,000-20,000 on the motor, it's not a bad car, considering it's completely stock (except for the Injen CAI). Last owner took REAL good care of the car in and out, and I hope to do the same.

-changed spark plugs [the tip on the 2nd one to the left is charred, and none were properly gapped]


-changed oil [about a quart and 3/4 came out]




-cleaned Injen air filter

-replaced the PRC Solenoid [taken off a mid 2000's V6 Mazda MPV, got rid of my P0090 & P0171 codes]

-replaced the PCV valve grommet
