This is my first post, and a pretty solid one at that. I have been tracking since I got my license a couple years back, and about 6 months ago, I bought a 99' Protege LX as my daily. Couple weeks ago, I bought a Passport G-Timer to datalog my trackdays, etc...But I found the thing that interested me the most was the timed runs. Needless to say, in the past week I have been doing several runs. My car has 99k miles on it, and it is an auto. I had weight set to 2850.

I did several runs using my girlfriends A4 1.8TQ to get an idea how close times were. We were less than a MPH off her 1/4mile trap speed, and .4sec off her 1/4mile time with the same 60ft time. I got about 0-60 in 11.2-12.4 seconds not power braking. 1/4 was in 17.75-18.82@63.2-67.8. On my final runs last night, I got some good times. The temp was about 40 degrees. I set the meter to do a brake test. On my first run, I mainly wanted to do a brake test. Going easy on the brakes, and not locking up any, I got 172ft. This was what would be if I needed to slow down quickly, but not in a HURRY. The next run was just pure beating on my car. I power braked until the revs were around 2200, and let the brake out. I got 0-60mph in 9.63 seconds, 1/8th in 11.17@63mph. The best part though was the brake test. In my driving schools, we are tought threshold braking in race cars with no ABS, so I put that to use. I did a full out stop, as fast as I could, pressing the brake until it locked up, then backing out, and go back to just before it locked up, and you get the idea. I got 63mph-0 in 107ft in 2.07seconds. That is hauling down. I have ceramic pads in the front on stock rotors. Just to give you an idea, in my friends BMW 328is with Axis Ultimate Ceramic/Metallic pads, the best he could pull with and without ABS is 121ft. Needless, he was rather dissapointed in his car.

Hope you guys enjoy the numbers,

Wes

Yes, rear drums with stock shoes. Everything stock except ceramics in the front. I would also like to add that I have had a ton of a braking practice in cars without ABS, so its easier for me to do stuff like that. Normally, in a panic brake situation, the car would just lock up resulting in a 200+ft stop.

I used a G-Tech Pro on my car and I dont think they work. All stock at 50 degrees in Denver (elevation over 5000 ft) I got a 17.1 continuosly. I calcs to about a 16.1-16.4 at sea level. Seems a little to fast for stock. I need to go to the track and test it.

One time it freaked out and told me a 14.47 1/4

The G-Tech Pro isn't near as accurate as the G-Timer. It also requires MUCH more calibration, and the result is times that aren't near as accurate. The G-Timer also uses different accelerometers which in turn are more accurate. In Car and Driver, they G-Tech Pro was within +/- 1.4sec in the 1/4 mile, and +/- 4mph. The G-Timer was +/- .2sec in the 1/4mile, and +/- 1.2mph in the 1/4 mile. This was using the G-Timer at a 1/4 track. Most of my runs were around 18 seconds, with 0-60 around 12 seconds, which is very close to what it should be. It also estimated WHP around 85, which should also be pretty close.
