hey, i'm a noob looking into tweaking a few extra horsepower out of my protege. I've looked online everywhere and still can't find anything!(cold air box, intake, etc) Can someone pleez help me with some info and/or tips on how to increase the performance on my mazda? I also have a auto trans.

I guess you have to have the BP engine to get power to your car from modifications...I dont have a BP but im sure I was able to put power to my 1.5L not much but im satisfied.

THE bp is the bp05. i believe they share a common block, but you have a b8 IIRC

Mines a B8 with BP01 on the head also. I think all 1.8 SOHC heads are BP01's cuz it's been on all the junk yard 1.8 SOHC's also. Not sure about the DOHC ones yet as I've yet to see one lol.

Start with an intake kit off ebay. its cheap and performs well. compareable to k&n. or u can get serious and throw a turbo in it. depends how big ur wallet is and how much motor work u wanna do
