Yes, they will make your car shake. =) Especially if you use both. And what they provide is a more solid throttle response; Rather than the engine losing torque to the engine mounts shifting, it all gets delivered to the ground. Also, the engine/tranny doesn't bounce, which allows more constant contact, eliminating our beloved 'wheel hop'.

well i dont want a shakey car.... are they that big of a benefit to have if i rarely race? maybe once a week on the streets driving somewhere....
how much are they too?

$70ish each, if I remember properly. There are two available, front and rear. And I love mine, but I like driving a tank, and having instant throttle response. If you're street racing, then probably not worth it, anyway. *shrugs* NSN is working on making some softer options for the Protege, too.

yeah i just drive my car like an everyday thing and only street race once in a while when some punk in a slow Mustang wants to race or something... so then if i have this right the will NOT benefit me much, correct?

Well, they will... They do make a huge difference when launching and cornering. But honestly, I don't think you'll like driving around in a shakey car, if you already have decided you wouldn't want to. =)

It's not that shaky...just a little vibration when you are stopped. Once you are going, no shake at all. It's worth it in my opinion, no wheel hop and a great launch.

I have one Auto trans, AWR, front motor mount for sale it was only used for about 1 month, this will make your car shake only a slight amount. But the bennifit that you get in reduced wheel hop is worth it, and it will stop your engine from wanting to jump out of its bay. PM if you want it, I am selling it for $50 + shipping

get just the front, it's still a huge improvement and with minimal vibration (compared to having both)

AWR makes 3 dfferent mounts in terms of stiffness and they are mesaured in Durometers. The Manual Trans is 95 Durometer the Auto (softer) is 88 Durometer and AWR recently came out with a mount of 70 Durometer... I would say get the 70 and see how it feels its not like your spending hundreds of dollars and Im sure if you didnt like it you could sell it to someone on this forum

yeah. i have an ATx and have the 95 mounts.. they make the car vibrate harder.. but i'm only getting the 1 mount, so it's all good in tha hood :)
a 70 should be pretty soft... what is stock set at? (if there is a setting)

With just the front mount and the softest insert there should be minimal vibrations.
Motor mounts also help with exhaust issues. If you are getting a rattling sound around 1500 RPM from your exhaust hitting the subframe or heatshield this is supposed to eliminate that.
If you get both front and rear mounts you will notice a vibration, especially with the air turned on. Some people get used to it, to me the benefits of having both mounts is not worth the ear ache my wife would give me having to ride in it.
I do plan on getting the front one with the 70 series insert.

You would need to buy the M/T mount or A/T Mount and just replace it with the 70 Durometer replacment
or just see if AWR will send you a mount with the 70 bushings with it

And it's my understanding the only difference between the Automatic Mount and the Manual mount is the insert (88 vs 95). I'm pretty sure the mounting mechanisim is the same for both.

For your application maybe.
You will see some benfit in launching and probably longer life than the stock mount. But since most of your racing is not from a stop, you allready don't have wheelhop, so it won't probably won't be a big noticable difference.
it is only $70 though, not $900 like an FMIC (smash)

I would think so it should be a great balance between drivibility (daily driving without the shakes) and performance (No or less wheel hop and improved throttle repsonse)
