my e-brake light has been on for a few thousand miles and will not turn off. does anyone know what kind of problem it could be? after it came on, my car started making this horrbile squeaking that seemed like it came from the front right tire, but it went away.

Low brake fluid. If your pads are worn/low, it will be drawn down to a low level. Check your pads, then top off your fluid.

To the 3rd power. You need pads. Put the pads on before you top off the fluid.

You've been driving the e-brake light on for a few thousand miles??? and never thought that there might be sumthing wrong? Check the pads, as stated and might want to have a look at ur rotors while ur at it..
