Fellow P5ers I have joined the ranks!

Yes, I now have in my clutches a great 03 P5 in Mica Black. Alas a sad farewell to the old 86 200sx Nissan, who still runs well, but is like that old dog who just doesn't have the same kick she used to have.

I've scoured this forum and found old references to the TS wx50a spare tire subwoofer from Pioneer. Well, I want one. It's that simple. I watched one sell on eBay, but not knowing how to value it I never bid, instead figuring I'd move on the next one. I'm still waiting.

The web is awash if foreign language sites referencing the TS WX50A, but a fat lot of good that does me! I'm just a monolinguistic typical 'merican.

So I appeal to the wisened elders and brash young upstarts. Anyone got a line on the woofer??

cheers, weitrhino

Welcome to the forums. Sorry, I don't know nothing about spare tire subs. You might get a better response from the the audio subforum.

woof woof to you also.
Hey, at least he didn't introduce himself by sniffing your ass.

I would think that you would be able to purchase one from your dealership? I could be mistaken though. Welcome to the forums, by the way!

If you can tell me how to get the harness out of my car, I'll sell you mine for $20 plus shipping. I would have sold it a long time ago but I dont know how to take it out.

Sold! And I'm not all that caught up about the wiring harness. What do I need besides power to the unit and voltage from the speaker lines, right?? I haven't checked out my P5 yet, but it may already have the harness.

Waiting to hear..............

Well I'll take a picture of mine tonight and show you why you need the harness. there isn't just a speaker line in and a power line in and ground. There's a big multi pronged plug/harness thing the plugs into the top of the woofer. I guess you could ghetto rig it, but I dont know an easy way to do it (not that I've tried, of course.)

PM 1sty and see if he has any instructions or anything. He knows his shit about audio stuff

anarchistchiken,

I have images of the ts-WX50a and the ampless ts-wx50. I'm no electronics slouch, that is it takes a pretty daunting task to discourage me from trying. My better half is outta town with my P5, Blackie, until saturday so I son't be able t look for the harness until then. But in the meantime if you have an image of the harness and how it connects to the unit I'd love to see it. By the way, yours is the "A" model, right??

cheers, weitrhino
