Lemme give you guys the rundown... 1.It will be a coupe 2. will sport the new Acura TL like headlights and will come with 4500 HIDs standard.
3. It will have the 6speed tranny and will sport an LSD. The motor will be the one on the NEW RSX-S the K20a3 that has 210hp and 143lbs of tourque at 7000rpm with a 9000 rpm redline. Vtech will hit at 6000rpm.
This car will use alot of the 2001-2004 rsx body since the RSX has been remodeled.
Oh and Jcell, and 01blueMP3....bring it anytime. Ill show ya 80lbs of tourque.

by looking those sized rims and brembo brake calipers that car must be a concept. Honda has a tendency to bring out the concept model of production months before it hits the street. The new TL, RL, Ridgeline, Odyessy all came out couple months before as a concept before it hit the street.

This concept and some preliminary specs torn from Honda two weeks before the Chicago show suggest it can, especially since the concept is “90 percent of what the production car will be,” according to a Honda source. Of course, we’re months away from a production version, and the proof is in the piloting, but the numbers are promising.
First, consider the 200-hp dohc i-VTEC engine, six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. The current Si offers “only” 160 hp, a five-speed manual and an open diff. So the concept promises to be a better car right out of the box. The European Civic Si already has 200 hp, so if we want to get miffed about that, we have every right. But no other U.S.-market Civic—Si or otherwise—has ever offered as much manufacturer-supplied power or as many gears as this concept promises. And good news: That limited-slip diff means power won’t be wasted spinning the inside tire in the corner. Top it off with a suitable exhaust note, and Honda is halfway there.

Below is a site with more pics from the Honda press conference at the Chicago autoshow this morning (I have the full set of studio shots but not privy to distribute them - and they'll be all over the web later today anyways).
The 8th-gen Civic is awesome and is a Mazda3 killer, with this Si in particular going to be the competition for a potential Mazdaspeed3.

Good thing is, the wifes Civic Sedan is bye bye for one of these and the P5 stays :D
CIVIC Si CONCEPT PRODUCT REVEAL
VOG: "Ladies and gentlemen...the Civic Si Concept..."
Here it is. The future of Civic, and Civic performance.
Although this is just a concept vehicle, it gives a very strong indication of where we're headed with the new Coupe and Coupe Si in terms of styling and the overall package.
It's 90 percent of what you'll see when the production models debut later this year.
It's an advanced new look that speaks to the more emotional, aggressive and fun-to-drive nature of the new Civic.
Of course, the Si is about more than just the styling. That's why this concept boasts a 200-horsepower 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC engine, the most powerful motor we've ever put in a U.S. model Civic.
Of course it is a little too early for you to test drive this car, but we thought we would give you a taste of what it would sound like .....Not the kind of engine note that you expect to hear from a 4 cylinder Civic... huh?
Helping to put that power to the ground is a crisp close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission along with a limited slip differential for improved launch traction and cornering performance.
The Si Concept also boasts 18-inch, high performance rubber and four-wheel disc brakes with four-piston Brembo calipers.
2006 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Si in America. And the 2006 Si Coupe will remain true to the legacy of the Si, delivering a new level of performance to the Civic lineup.
Although it's too early to get into all the details, I can tell you one thing for sure. This new Si will be fast, fun and full of what makes Civic, a Civic.
Now, as you all know, the performance aftermarket has played a big part in the image of Civic with young buyers and performance enthusiasts. After all, it was Civic that was there at the birth of the compact performance trend some twenty years ago, and Civic that still holds the largest share of this market today.
So, as part of our marketing efforts for this new Civic lineup and for the Si in particular, we look forward to taking a big role in the event that serves as the epicenter of the tuner market, the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas.
I am pleased to announce for the first time here today that Honda will be participating in the 2005 SEMA show as Vehicle Manufacturer of the Show, a first for any Japanese manufacturer ... and the Civic is taking center stage as the Official Vehicle of the Show.
As part of this effort, we'll make SEMA the venue for the world debut of the new Si in November. It's the perfect place to showcase this new Si and to tell the world of performance tuners and aftermarket sellers how excited we are about this new Civic.
We look forward to sharing more details of the Civic Si and the total Civic lineup with you in the months to come.
Thank you for your attention this morning.
Please come on up and take a close look at the Civic Si Concept.

Question: Does the RSX currently have an LSD?
Opinion: The Si is a little too slab-sided for me; The production model will probably have some door trim to fix that up. There is too much distance between the rear wheel well and the deck. The spoiler connecting to the trunk in the middle is too Pep Boys. Production will probably fix that too.
Other than that it sounds pretty sweet. I guess I've been looking at this the wrong way...It'll just be a more affordable RSX.

Its an improvement. But not good enough. Try again Honduh.
1. No turdbo
2. STILL no double wishbone suspension..thats what made the old Si so sweet
3. No LSD...or does it?
4. Its kinda ugly IMHO
The fact remains is it probablt can't outperform the MSP (other than straight-line), SRT-4 et al..all 2003 cars. This is a 2006 car afterall.
Ill stick with an MSP on upped boost and my EVO thank you very much.

But what I want to know is how much do they weigh? The Civics sure as hell have not been getting lighter over the years. Wasnt the 02 Si hatch pushing 2800lbs?
So... yeah... what happens to the rsx now? Pretty much SOL unless honda finds a new awd drivetrain and some torque?
