I brought my car to the local dealer for the 60k mile service (I got a Mazda3 as a loaner by the way...fun!). When they called to tell me it was done, they said there were a couple of things they needed to go over with me.
When I pulled in, I noticed that one of their garage doors had the lower windows broken and it was bowed outward. Apparently the person who was pulling my car up to the garage hadn't pumped the brakes sufficently after changing the fluid and ran right into the door.
Their door was put out of condition and I got a big gouge on my bumper. I am going to get a new bumper out of it so I guess that it is P5-1, Garage door-0. Yea...I win!!! (cool)
Sorry, Front bumper by the way. Broke three windows in the overhead door!

make sure nothing is fucked up structurally, the force against your exhaust for example could harm your exhaust all the way back due to stress. Make them promis that if anything fucks up, and is caused by this, they pay.

There ought to be some out of car payment too. If they are giving you a rental car it better darn be 100% covered, that includes GAS because if it wasn't for them messing up your car you wouldn't have to sbe pending gas on a car that you don't own., especially if the rental car eats more gas then the P5 (very unlikely though haha, damn P5 swallows gas).

I plan on making them pay for everything (including gas for the rental I'll need while they fix my bumper). They were kissing ass pretty good when it happened so it shouldn't be a problem. I got to speak with the dealership manager and everything.
geez, wtf?!?! i just read the post about how they didnt put the oil cap on someone elses car, now they drive your car into a door.

As for p5 vs garage door, at least they didn't try fucking around and saying that's how they got the p5 originally.

I've done P5 vs. ladder in garage and lost that one. No major damage, but I wished I hadn't tried to move my car seconds after waking up.

Have them recheck the brake system, too. If the brake needed pumping, there could be some air in the system. Tell'em to bleed it again.

My dumbass pulled my car off the wheel ramps (maybe 9-10") with the hood still propped up, and naturally, the prop slipped and the hood slammed. For the next few months (till I got carbon fiber) I had to tell everyone I could never figure out how I got a dent going OUT from the engine bay.

It was East Mazda on 29th street. I haven't really had the best experience with their service team, but the salesperson who I worked with was cool. He is the one who gave me the 5M Mazda3 to drive while I was getting the original work done. To bad it made my car feel like a slug when I got back into it. (sad2)

New bumper on order. 1-2 weeks and then install. Now the chips on my hood won't match the shiny new bumper...

Uh, no man. After you change pads you gotta pump the brakes to get the piston back outta the caliper onto the pads and disc. It has nothing to do with there being air in the lines...

Show me the balloons.
You will be a victim if you allow yourself to be. I have NEVER had something like that happen to me.
Come one..how can ANYONE cover up a front end collision?

There ya go.
Seriously though, if they didn't take a picture, have it on video, or sign a waiver, it's always possible.
My friend's parents' van literally fell off a jack once. The repair shop tried to pass it off as "it must've come in this way" after trying to hammer out as many of the dents as they could. It took 6 months' worth of constant pressure for the stupid shop to cave in and do the work to avoid going to court.

DOH!
Though same similar story from a member here or was, not sure if he still around.
He has a MP3 that was in for service somewhere and they parked it out front after finishing. He went to get in it, push his auto start.....and the car started moving. The tech had left the car in 1st...
So here he is half in the car half out and in a panic just started smashing his foot searching for the brake. The car ran over the sensor to open the garage door so that starts going up. Just as it was about the clear the car, the roof caught the door bending it. Well this caused more stress on the door as it went up causing all the windows to shatter raining glass down on the MP3.
The owner jumps in the car getting a small cut on his hand, with the rest of the car having glass shards stuck in it.

Actually it was a pretty good laugh cause he also mention the fact everyone went diving like a bomb went off. So just picturing him half in half out, smashing a foot around, and people diving. This was also due to the fact we were standing in front of his car which was fixed.
Though it could have been much much much worst, if he didn't dive inside the car....ouch!

Wow, what an idiot. He started the car without checking to see if it was in gear? Smart guy there (jerkit)

well I can kinda see it happening if you've got a remote starter. After a while, you just get used to starting it up outside of the car.
