So I just got done installing my new Perrin SRI . and once it was installed and I started my car up, I noticed my battery light was on.
I have had an aftermarket Amp and Sub for a week or so, and it had never came on unitll now. Im sure it has nothing to do with the intake haha.
But what do you guys suggest.
I already drove around for awhile with the stereo off. and that didnt do anything.
SO I am going to check all the connections to the battery tomorrow and maybe that will lead me somewere.
But I would just like to hear some input please, Thanks

might be your intake air temperature sensor (black plastic cone that was in the stock airbox). matthew messed his up and it caused the battery light to come on.

usually when the battery light comes on that means that the alternator isn't charging the battery.

How do you mess that thing up, it seems like a pretty solid piece to me. (shrug)

if its broken you need to buy a new one. there is no check engine light i imagine?

this is very true but since he mentioned that he just put in an intake and the same thing happened to matthew that was my best guess.

I forgot to reconnect one of the sensors the first time. That trips the battery light.

Hmm ... I am not using this sensor anymore. Its not needed with the Perrin intake.
So possible some other sensor isnt , connected ?
I will play around with some things.
Thanks guys,, keep em coming

um, you have to have the sensor still attached or the ECU will flip. Even if the Perrin SRI does not have a place for it, you need it plugged in, and stuffed somewhere in your engine bay. Preferably a place that represents the same temperature air that your intake is pulling in.

if the battery light is coming on, that means your air intake temp sensor is bad or not connected. something is wrong with eitehr the wiring or the sensor itself. in my case the sensor was missing. if you dont believe that this is the problem, talk to dexter. just to prove my point he disconnected his on the way home from work to make sure i was right, and sure enough the battery light came on, and went off when he reconnected.
if the light is still on, and the sensor is present, be tied up to something or actually in the intake (your best bet is poke a hole in the filter and push it into the filter through the rubberish part), you have either jacked up one of the two wires going to the IAT sensor, or ruined the sensor itself.
the part is about 40 dollars.

Ahh i get it now. I left the actual sensor part in the old intake. whoops. and just unplugged it and left it like that. Okay I knew something seemed odd

you don't want to do that :) the IAT sensor will affect alot of how the ECU runs the car. matthew could chime in on that :D
