I was watching Fifth Gear, the British car show on satellite this morning and they talked about the Civic Type R and how it was such a good value etc. It really is a badass car. Why on earth doesnt Honda bring it to the US? Are they insane? I dont get it. Any ideas, I mean Ive thought of this I cant think a reason why they dont. Any ideas?

I suspect honda makes more money selling type R badges here than they would if they actually sold the type R here.

w3rd......also, a true civic type R would be a direct contender for the S2K. what would you rather buy a 13s $30K car or a high 13s $20K

The only problem I have with the EP Type R is that it still looks like a minature Odessey. I never have understood why we never got the EG or EK Type R. The only reason I can think of is that they don't want it to outrun the Type-S.

According to a article in the current issue of SCC. The next Civic will have i-VTEC 1.6L and 1.8L K engines in the Base models rated at 120hp(sad). Where the LX and EX models will use the 2.0L K that the current Si and RSX rated at 160hp will become the mainstream option. The Si could use either the 2.0L K rated 210hp from the current RSX-S or the 2.4 K from the TSX for great performance. All trannies will have 6 gears.
