I just had my car washed and I noticed what looks like little small rust colored dots and marks all over the car. Now it's not like in one place or another i'm talking all across the entire surface of the vehicle. Any ideas what it might be? Is it like a flaw in the paint that I should take and have looked at by Mazda and bitch about it cause for all the cars i've owned I've never seen anything like this before so my only thoughts is it's somthing in the paint/clearcoat... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if it was rust the paint would start lifting. maybe someone splashed some chemical.

same thing happened on my dads new white titan. over at titantalk.com it has been discussed and is beleived to be raildust from the cars being transported and only come noticeable after a wash or 2 and a good eye. the claybar and a good buff works. try it, then tell us if it worked for you.

right, the raildust..it gets embedded in the paint and then grows. claybar removes the raildust.

umm, not to frighten people, but...
my car had that all over the back of it. Little black specs all over it. It was burnt oil coming out of the exhuast due to a damaged engine. ANd then my engine blew up.

that's not the case with me. its because I parked the car on city streets(on a bridge above a highway) for a few months and the car took a beating.
oil and rust look different.

Calm down, everyone. It's just raildust and particles in the atmosphere that get imbedded in the paint every once in awhile. I used to have that problem, as well.
In fact, when I would rub my hand over my freshly washed car, it felt very rough.
I went here www.zainobros.com (http://www.zainobros.com) and purchased theit deluxe kit. I follwed the directions, and man, it was like night and day! I can drop a towel on the hood and it just slides off. The paint always looks wet, and looks deeper the more coats you put on. It's alittle pricey, but I've still got plenty of stuff left after 1 1/2 years. That claybar worked wonders!

It's rust colored or also known as a dark orange it's not oil and it's on my doors and everything so for some reason i dont think it's oil.
Maybe just a real good cleaning will take care of it... its a shame its so friggen cold out!

a high end detail place will most definetly know what and how to use a claybar

My car has been blowing crap out of the exhaust since day one. I have black little specs all over it when I don't wash it. It is because the car runs so rich, it is not oil. Every msp that i've seen does this, nothing new.
Taking a claybar to it will definetely do it. Go to Pepboys or some place like it, buy a claybar and some quick detailer. Wash car, then spray quick detailer on it and rub with claybar (small areas at a time). It will come right off. Once you've got it off make sure to put a good wax on the car. If you have any questions just ask. I deal with this kind of thing very often.

Well I don't even think like turtle wax or delta sonic use a clay bar just probably wax and a buffer... cause i was considering just paying them the 200.00 to detail the whole thing when the weather gets nicer.

$200.00? good lord man. I wish you lived closer, I would do it for you.
but really, just buy the Zaino kit and go to town. set aside a day and a half to get it perfrect or a day to do it adequately enough.

God i wish i had an entire day where i dont have a million other things that need to get done too... it sucks that sometimes the car takes a back seat.

My P5 had this problem. DIdn't even need to be clayed man, I just gave her a good scrubbing, during a normal wash. Just srub a little harder, and it should come off, mine did.

No, really...get the zaino kit and get at it. I almost shit a brick when I got through with the whole process. In fact, I even started to just add more coats to get an even deeper gloss. I ended up with ten coats, and the thing just glowed. It really brought out the mica flakes. Not one swirl mark, and people at work asked if I had gotten a "sparkle-paint job" or something. If you're willing to pay $200 for one detail job, why not pay half of that for a kit that will give you a "show-car" look?

Very good advice. Zaino is awesome stuff. I can't wait until the spring so I can do the process again. I hate winter
