Wow...Some new test numbers have popped up for the Cobalt SS.
Fasest regualr production front drive car throught the cones in 3 years, faster than the new corvette Z51?????
Out cornered the VW R32 on the skidpad
Out gunned the cooper S from 0-60
Outstopped the WRX 60-0
This is actually a positive review, of a chevy??? i'm beside myself. this never happens.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the numbers too, shows potential.
2800lbs, something fishy about that number though, the ion redline comes in at 2930lbs
0-60 : 6s
1/4 : 14.5s @ 98.2mph

too bad it still looks like a turd cause those stats are impressive (cool)
I like their highly scientific ride height measurement -- "just one finger fits between the top of the tire and the fenders" (rofl)

Heh heh heh. Im actually considering getting one of these. :D The Missus works for a Chvy Dealer, and I can get below S plan price if I talk with the right people.

"you can polish a turd and it's still a turd"~~anonymous
I'm just not a fan of Eaton superchargers on small engines. I'd prefer something nicer like a good turbo or efficient centrifugal blower. Eatons are just bargain basement junk for the most part.

weird numbers...98mph...shouldn't that equal to like a 14.1-14.2.?

not necessarily.
if traction is hard to come by off the line (and with that power, i'd imagine it is), the trap speed is going to be high relative to the ET (see Dodge SRT-4).
then look at a WRX- it's the opposite, with a quicker ET than you'd expect from the trap speed.
as a rule of thumb trap speed is a better measure of the power the car is making than ET.
either way, those are impressive numbers. hopefully Mazda gives the MS3 the go-ahead.

very impressive...I think the car looks bad ass. Wonder when its coming out. The biggest chevy dealer around here doesnt even have any regular 2dr cobalts yet (uhm)

I can't help but like it. The wheels are crazy, good power. I like the yellow and red, hood is cool. Interior isn't bad.... Nice seats.

I hear its steer is very soft and liveless, plus the suspension is nowhere near the Mazdaspeed.

True but the power could make up for it.
