Masdaspeed 6

Just put $500.00 down on a mazdaspeed 6, it will probably be a year to a year and a half before I take delivery, but I will be the first one to get one. In case you haven't heard of it. It is a turbocharged 2.3 liter 4 cylinder with 280 h.p. oh yeah and it's all wheel drive, I was told the final price will be under $30,000. Just ask your dealer to get you the information, I got pics., stats, and a-lot of info. This car is going to be the best yet, and I got a year or so to start saving, Just thought I'd let you guys know what is coming out next.

Yes the regular Mazda 6 is all ready out. Test drove one a couple of days ago. Really nice car.

O.K. every thing I got on the car is from my dealer ( great guy ), any way, go to edmunds.com news, look for the 2002 paris monodial de l'automobile, then look up, or look for the mazda 6 MPS concept, it might be under auto shows too. It says concept, but my dealer just got back from an all-mazda show and said it's a go! It will probably be about a year or so, because the next mazdaspeed car that is coming out is the new mazdaspeed 3, they are bringing the 3 back and I'm not sure the specs. because it's basically a protege. So, after that comes my new baby the mazdaspeed 6.

There has been no OFFICIAL announcement yet for production of the MazdaSpeed 6 for North America. However it HAS been announced for Europe, so it's nearly a sure bet. If it does come in under $30,000 they should be prepared to make A LOT of them because they'll sell like hotcakes. There are a couple of threads here dealing with this car - most of them are labeled MPS 6, because the concept car was part of the Mazda Performance Series of concepts. Also, mazdaatenza.com has a forum dedicated to the MazdaSpeed 6 as well. Lots of info over there.

other threads have "official info" about the next car being a mazdaspeed miata, and you say the next mazdaspeed will be a mazdaspeed 3.....a car which doesnt even exist in its base form yet......i hope you are joking about having a deposit on the mazdaspeed 6.

also, the mazdaspeed protege production was annoucned on the website a year ago if not a little over a year ago, and the car still hasnt hit the streets, so assume the same production time for europe......and 280hp? is that the announced europe model? because i dont know of many performance sedans from europe that come to the US without being toned down......

i have been to some really nice seemingly knowledgable dealers too. And they gave me official info too.......and now I trust my new dealer who is also nice, but doesnt pretend to know official info.......if i went to my old dealer i could have put down a deposit on a mazdaspeed 6 last year, but my new dealer wont take one until he knows they will actually EXIST.....

i hope you can give me a "see, i told ya so" when you get it.....but i think you would be ill advised to take your dealers word as gospel...

i believe the mazdaspeed 6 is a hatch and not a sedan too, at least in the paris concept....

i havent even heard a date for the hatch release in the us

I wasn't basing my comment purely upon the European release. My train of thought went more like this:
1. Mazda has made a strong commitment to the MazdaSpeed brand. They will be leveraging the brand and its products both for brand recognition and to generate additional profit.
2. Mazda will be using the MazdaSpeed cars as a way to leverage the MS brand and showcase their technology.
3. Mazda creates the MS6 as the halo car of the line. There have been strong rumors since before this car debuted that it will see production in some form or other.
4. MPS 6 aka MazdaSpeed 6 debuts in Paris, with the followup announcement confirming production at Birmingham.
Therefore I concluded that it is highly likely that the MS6 will see its way to our shores. You can see why I didn't want to put this all in my original post. As for plunking down my hard-earned cash on a car that hasn't been confirmed yet, fuggedaboudit.

mazda 6 whats with all the #'s not that it really matters if it is a bad ass car it will get drove. U know what else sucks i played a whole season on tecmo superbowl and lost in the second round of playoffs to 49ers who i bet twice in the regular season ant that a bitch.

Nope. That is the MPS 626 that came out a couple of years ago. It had a twin-turbo 2.5 liter V6 putting out 280hp.

Apex....I'm with you. I love the car, but the wheels could be a lot better. Besides, I hate cleaning wheels with that many spokes.
