How long are the rotors warrantied? Mine are warped.
I think it's 12000 miles but I just want to make sure.

A bit longer if the dealership is feeling nice, and the problem is a total failure as opposed to a wear issue.

I don't think they'll feel that nice, but I'll give it a shot. This is my 2nd car from them so maybe they'll help me out.

5% chance they will

no dealer in their right mind will though :(

I just ordered some track worthy pads from Carbotech. The pads were $129 for the front or $142 w/rotors. I've heard good things about these pads and I'm hoping I will be happy. I ordered the XP8s.

so even if the car hasent reached 12000 miles but already pass its 1 year they wont regard that as under warranty? just wanna know cos i seldom use my car and braking is use only when the car is moving..just curious.

its there way of getting out of the work, even if you seldom drive your car, over a longer period of time those seldom drives can add up to a lot of wear on the vehicle depending on HOW you drive the vehicle, so even tho your not racking up the miles, the car is still getting "abused" per-say... either way, it sucks :p...

you've had your rotors for a while. do they tear up the pads any more than normal? are you having to change pads more often? how is the dust compared to stock?
thanks

I've had mine for a few months now, and have not noticed any significant wear. But man, do they perform!

that sucks, my brother works in the service department of kia, he said they regard the pads as a wear item but the rotors are not a wear item, and thus are under the 3 year/36000 mile part of the warranty. even kia beats us

i love them.
i put 11k miles on my stock pads.
repplaced at 11k with the current setup.
my car now has 21k, so pretty much same amount of miles on both sets of brakes.

as of now i have more pad left on the Axxis (running on slotted/drilled rotors) than i had on stockers (running stock rotors) when i took them off at 11k.

stopping is much better.
there is an exit off 101 (highland) that is on a pretty steep hill.....
stock brakes would fade by the time i reached a red light from 70 mph to 0.
now i dont have that problem.

as far as dust goes, the Axxis dust a little less than stock pads.
if u want zero dust get ceramic pads.
they make them for MSP.....autozone has them.

thanks, good info. i don't really need zero dust, just don't want more than stock pads if i can avoid it. sounds like the rotors aren't any harder on the good pads as the stock rotors were on the stock pads. have you done any track days/autocross/canyon runs with your current set-up? how did they hold up?

i've gone through canyons a few times, but nothing major.
brakes worked great.
i guess the true test will be protegefest 2005 at buttonwillow.......i'm sure i'll see u there :)

if i get my breaks fixed by then! i doubt my stock ones will hold up to that. they start to make noise just driving 7 miles to my place.
