Has anyone done this yet? I was thinking a gunmetal grey for my car. Got a place here that does awesome work. Lets see some pics if anyone has done it.

I was going to go bronze powdercoat on mine, but someone with a black MSP had theirs spraypainted bronze. I might powdercoat my black, but I am not sure now.

is there any kind of finish on the wheel that would need to be removed first? i always thought there was. taking off the old finish jacks the price up a bit.

I cant decide if I want mine bronze or gunmetal. I may leave them stock and get a new set just so I will have all stock parts for the car when it is worth big money
I dont know if the spokes are too wide to look good powdercoated.

Try gunmetal, it would look nice i'm sure. I've painted a few sets of rims, you dont need to do much, just get some decent primer, and primer the rims, then paint them with wheel paint, looks nice in the end. My paint never peeled or flaked off either, i used 1 can for 2 wheels, and 1 can of clear coat also. Take ur time, it'll look good.

with a sunlight silver speed with a cf hood. what would you all think of powdercoating the RHs like a hyperblack and leave the center cap silver?
The wheels are down to metal now because the finish got messed up and the stealership wouldn't warrant them so I am doing something just not sure yet. Its going black or gunmetal to flow with the cf hood.

I have pix but no scanner, but trust me they look GREAT, its easy to do, just tape off the tires really good, and primer it, let it dry for 1 hour or so, and spray on the paint, make sure you let it dry real good too.

Paint works just as well when done properly. Just follow what Yanyan said and you'll be fine. You can see a picture of my painted Racing Harts in my sig.
