I got my MSP last month, my dad said he would buy me a year of sirius radio. My question is what do i do to get it in my car. My radio says sirius on it. But i dont have an antenna, how do i get the antenna and how i get the service. Mazda told me to call sirius and sirius told me to call mazda. Thanks for the help.

What you need to do is go to best buy or a local car audio place and buy the receiver with the antenna. Once you buy the receiver/antenna, you will need to call up sirius and set up an account. They will require you to give the serial number of the receiver. I can post pics of the model i have if you want.

Best Buy sells the Kenwood compatible receiver. I think its KDC-903. You can't go wrong, its the only kenwood specific one they'll have, it cost about 80 bucks. Its a plain black box that says "Kenwood" on it. You don't want one of the universal units since you already have the Kenwood Sirius compatible head unit. Only the Kenwood reciver works, though.
This come with a wire that just plugs into the back of your radio and the box is mounted in your car somewhere. Mine is in my trunk, with the wire run under the passenger door trim. You'll then plug the antenna into that receiver. Mine runs up the arm/hinge thing that supports the trunk and out, with the antenna stuck on the trunk lid. Its a magnet. I installed it myself, its pretty easy or they'll do it for relatively short money.

Crutchfield has the Sirius receiver for $49. You'll also need the antenna.

Easy install, shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. You'll also need to find your HU number by accessing it in the menu. Write it down, have your CC ready and call sirius. After they get your info, it takes about 30 seconds for it to activate.

I'm one of those guys....I totally got mine. Worth the wait. Some of those guys just are not patient (sp) or they haven't kept on them for the free equipment.

I'm one of those guys too. Still patiently waiting. It's def. worth the wait since I have tons of MP3 CD's to keep me busy until the equipment arrives.

I work at Best Buy in Car Audio. The KDC-903 is not being made anymore and Best Buys will most likely not have them anymore. You can prolly find them online or at some small shops. There is a new tuner coming out to Best Buys in April and it should be about 30% smaller than the KDC-903. It is made by DEI I believe and is model SIR-KEN1. You can also hook up XM to your Kenwood with the smart digital adapter and tuner. Which ever way you go, Sirius or XM it costs bout $100 for equipment.
