When I bought my MSP it had a HID conversion kit. One bulb just blew....no idea how. The kit is about 1 year old I imagine. I do not want to pay for a new HID bulb....especially if I cannot get it to match with the existing bulb. I do not want to have to worry about it in the future anyway, so I want to revert back to stock.
Only problem is....I have no idea what the stock bulb housing looks like. What I have is a long black housing with a chrome cap around the HID bulb. A red wire and a black wire are coming out of the back and they clip into wires coming out of the HID conversion box. I have no idea how the original headlight wires look. The long black housing fits in there nice so it seems that it is stock....just with modified wiring and a different bulb.
Anyone have pictures of the back of their headlight? I do not know what the stock connector (that plugs into the back of the bulb) looks like.
Thanks in advance!

Just go to the auto parts store and ask them ro a h4 bulb. then remove the HID kit. there is a plug that is apart of the cars wired that hooked into a plug on the balests of the HID kit. take the end that is wired into the car and thats what plugs into the new light bulb. If you gont see what lemme know and ill take spme pictures of mine for ya.

I will look into the plugs. When I looked yesterday, the plugs that go into the ballasts do not look like they would plug into the back of a bulb. Do H4's have 3 prongs at angles? Am I looking for a plug to go straight to the back of the bulb, or does the bulb plug into some other part that has a clip coming off it? Thanks so much. I feel so dumb because bulb replacement is usually easy!

Are the pictues in this article accurate with the Mazdaspeed Protege? At least I can see what the stock connector looks like. Are the wire color codes the same? Thanks!

Ok found the clip. Orig. owner used elecric tape, and it covered the connector. I wish I would have found it earlier. I got Phillips bulbs but they look so damn yellow....and ugly. Guess I just got used to the HID's :(
Be on the lookout in the For Sale Non Vendors section. I will sell the whole kit for cheap....one bulb does not work it just makes a rattle noise but it doesnt look burnt out...I think a wire is loose or something. I do not have HID experience.
Thanks for all the help guys!

It sounds like your ballast on that bulb fried. That will be expensive, and is a problem with some kits.

Now that you bring it up....I forgot I checked that. I plugged the blub housing off the other ballast and it still made the same noise. It is the bulb / bulb housing. Ballast is good. I will double check before I post the sale.
