I have been listening to everyone complain about there radios in there MSP and I have never had a problem, till today, the led readout just went blank. Radio nstill works but just cannot see anything.. Would like some opiniouns should I go to Mazda and have it replaced, or will they blame it on the Emanage? Should I just buy a replacement?

Mazda replaces the whole radio under Warranty(cool)

I'm just gonna replace mine. Best Buy's got a Kenwood MP3 player on sale this week for a little over $200 I think. Depends on the dealer I think, I know mine won't at least.

yah i work for a dealer and I can tell you getting a check cut is like asking them for a free car. They'll just laugh. It's a shame how dealers have gotten but one thing to understand is that they got that way for a reason. I can tell you from my experience here people love to try to take advantage of us. Love to just try to get free shit all the time. (sorry for minor threadjack)

Would this one be like mine?

I figured the dealer would not replace it. I am just in the process of selling the car and don't want to spend a lot of money.
I tried the reset button but not for 5 seconds.
Thanks you all.

Do they replace with the same model? If not then what do they use.

they replace them with an identical refurbished model.
I am on my 2nd one.
This one is started down the saem path to it's death that my 1st one did.
The EQ on the display no longer lights up.
Yes I have checked the settings.
My first one did that, then the whole face died, then the flip down froze.
It's a POS and the next time I get it replaced, i'm selling the refurb unit they give me before even re-installing it in my car.
This is my first Kenwood and it's definitely my last.
I'm going back to Pioneer.

I had one of the original Kenwoods similar to the one in the MSP, and mine did the exact same thing. The EQ went out because the small rolodex tape that controls all of the display functions cracked across the width of the tape, causing me to lose display and function of the EQ. It was out of warranty from Kenwood, so I took it to a certified repair place and they charged me like 85 bucks to fix it. They have since changed the way the face rolls down and the rolodex is gone, and from what ive seen in the 2005 models, they don't even have the DMASK+ feature anymore. I've got my sights set on the new KDC 928 right now with the 5000 color display and Dolby 5.1/DSP built in, and a G-meter.
