3 psi? What the F#@$!

Car is stock for the moment other than a boost gauge. Today while on the way back to the house I noticed that when I floor it in 2nd and 3rd boost goes to 7psi, settles at 6psi then just after 5k rpm boost shoots down to between 3 & 4 psi. Whats the deal? Back-pressure from stock exhaust? Normal? Never noticed it before. Any ideas?

That sounds about right... With my 3in midpipe I hit 6-7psi stock and drop to about 5 after 5000rpms.
