short throw questions

im looking at the twn. (all i can find) there are two different types the regular one and the heigh ajustable one. now my question is that is the regular one going to be low to reach if i rest my hand on the center console. (thing between the two seats dont no what its called) or should i get the heigh adjustable one?

kartboy and B&M also make shifters, all will lower the height. ust run a search and you will find all the info you need.

i really dont think i can find out on the internet if they make it to low to rest your hand on the center console. lol so anyone in here have one and can let me know

I dont have one myself, but I was on the same site as you and I think it stated there that the new shifter drops it about 2inches. I believe it was on the product description where I saw it. Anyway, if it is 2 or3 inches, then go in your car and imagine/measure 2 inches down...

May be louzy advice, but all I can come up with since it doesnt seem anyone w/ the shifter is chiming in.....

I have the TMW(or TWM, can't remember) and it does seem to drop about 1 1/2 - 2". When I rest my arm on the center console, my hand seems to rest pretty comfortably on the knob. You have to reach a bit more for 3rd & 5th gear. Also, shift effort is a bit more with the short shifter, but well worth it in my opinion. Took me about 2hrs to install, by myself. That was being super careful, reading the instructions several times before each step and taking a couple of breaks to run inside for different tools & snacks.

I have the twm short shifter on my mazda3 it not only lowers the shifter but decreases the throw by about 35-40%. Heres a pic.

It's nice.. makes for a very steady shift.. gets kinda cold in the morning though..

did u try it without the standerd nob first. is the differnce noticable. and are there any others that you no of that weigh alot but arnt 99 bux

By the way, for those that already installed the twm, were you able to put the stock knob back on??? I'v eheard that it doesnt fit...just curiuous..havent seen a knob worth changing for yet....an dI know the heavier the better considering the stiffness...but like I said nothing tickled my pickle just yet!

Yep, the stock knob from a P5 fits the TWM SS fine. Dont know if this is true for a MSP or MP3 tho - I think those knobs may have diff threads.

my old 3 knob fit but was much to lightweight for my taste.. The twm knob has some weight to it and really rounds out the package imo.
