Check out www.corksport.com, and check to see what they have under JDM Engines...usually they have bigger, more powerful versions of the USDM engine, and they can either order the engine, or they'll have one in stock, check it out.

1.8L T4cyl (BPturbo) w/approx 180 HP yea this was all they had, but its exspensive to install so maybe i need to keep my eyes peeled for other engines too thanks a lot

yes. if you boost, and you arent retarted, get an ic. its always safer

Get the GTX motor, its the cheaper than the GTR and just as much fun.

the rear diff and drive shaft arent expensive. its converting your fwd to awd thats expensive

yea im cant do that know cause it wil be very expensive. so im doing a B8 to BP swap. the motor is really cheap if i get it at a salvage yard, but its pretty pricey at a mazda remanufacuring engine site. like almost 2 g's. so i think a dohc 1.8 will just be fine. btw the BPT support a awd in the tranny so i dont see what u mean by converting. u mean labor wise???? no. i mean making a driveshaft tunnel, switching the rear suspension, and the other roughly 7-10k of work everyone ends up not doing. the fwd protege isnt set up for awd. the awd protege and the 323 are, not the fwd protege

You want to go to awd? Just get the GTX motor and drop it in. A buddy of mine put one into his Ford Escort and it's 6 shades of kickass. I believe he bought his motor from protegeclub from another member. If you want to ask him questions feel free, he's in nepoc and his name on the boards is Ne3ek

You would have to completely rework the tunnel, reroute the exhaust, i think you need the awd fuel tank, the drivetrain, rear subframe, etc. The awd tranny is a cable system vs the hydraulic used in the us bp Not sure if that matters or not. Not worth it IMO unless you have lots of cash to throw around and can do most of the work yourself.

http://www.jdmenginedepot.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=59 ..............so this motor will not fit in my car. then what will then please help me, and tell me where i can get it. its a 1992 protege DX with 131 miles. please help i only got u guys to depend on thanx a lot
You might want to call aroudn to some local shops. Locally they run like 750-950$ around here dedpending on the number they have.
Yes that motor will fit, thats the GTX/BPT. it prob comes with the Tranny which is AWD, but the FWD tranny on your car will work. But you could upgrade to the DOHC tranny which came in the LX proteges (1.8 DOHC) or Escort GT's or Mercury Tracer LTS. BUt it s not neccesary. You willl need the ECU-Harness - And a upgraded fuel pump for safety. but the ECUs are hard to find, so u will need soem kind o engine management, to run the BPT to its full potential. ITs a fairly simple swap. A friend of mine can do it n 2 1/2 hours...lol i havent done it personally tho.
That link has some good proces tho, but shipping is gonna kill u on a motor. So i would crack open the phonebook, and get to callina round for a mazda BPT/1.8 Turbo motor. But if you dont have access to one locally, they might be your best bet. But they also show up on ebay alot. And there is also soem being sold on clubprotege.com for 950$+ shipping from a good seller.
You have other options:
NA BP 1.8 DOHC (escort GT/Protege LX/Mercury Tracer LTS)
ALl u will need is the motor-harness-ecu, and your set. Its identical to the BPT minus the turbo. But it has a better Cylinder HEad than the BPT and breathes better. And the intake Manifold is different, and the compression is obviously lower. BUt its almost identical. 130hp-1120tq alot of fun, and a great motor. Everythign from the BPT will swap ight over to the BP (turbo-manifold-intake manifold etc..). Same design, just different internals and a nice TURBO!. Adn the parts needed for the swap will eb very easy to find. considering the BP are a dime a dozen in the States.
KF-ZE 2.0 V6 170hp-150??tq from japan
Nice motor a friend of mine had a turbocharged KF in his MX-3 and it was freeakish scary fast, but it eventually blew up :(. But to get int hte pro, u will need the MX-3 crossmember/ v6 mx-3 tranny/ ECU harness. But the motor is expensive to repair. IT looks perfect in the protege, fits like a glove, but it wont be a simple swap.
KL-ZE 2.5 V6 200hp - 180tq? from japan
ALmost identical to the KF visually, Same install materials will be needed, but its a great motor. expensive tho.
You got plenty of choices..check out www.clubprotege.com u got plenty of info on swaps there.
