So I got a Clarion Sirius ready head unit to replace the stock kenwood a while ago. With all the money Sirius has made me these past few months, I think it's only fitting that I get on board. A ton of you guys have been able to take advantage of the free tuner/antenna promo... I tried but, because I no longer have the kenwood, they wouldn't send it to me... I've been told that crap would be useless anyway since I have a Clarion HU. First question is... is that true or is it BS? Second, if I WERE somehow able to finagle them sending that stuff to me... assuming the tuner's not compatible, could I simply buy a Clarion tuner seperately and use the kenwood antenan? (how the hell do you spell that word anyway?) that might be more trouble than it's worth.... what do you guys think?

its kenwood specific. most the tuners now are head unit specific, but they are soon changing that.
yeah, you are be able to use any antenna, since they arent headunit specific

holy shit!!! sirius website has that kenwood antenna going for $80!!! insanity... they should give this stuff away (ala directv) in order to encourage subscriptions (where the real money is made) guess I'll call up american satelite and pretend I still have my kenwood

Sirius is really great. You also can listen free over the internet when you have a subscription. I have some nice speakers on the computer, so it sounds pretty good. Not as good as an in-home unit on a nice system, but not bad and you don't need to pay for a home unit.

I don't see me listening to normal radio much more anymore.
