View Full Version : clutch, horns, and merry x-mas
I was driving back to Illinois yesterday from Alabama and was caught in stop and go traffic for several hours. I noticed that when I would start to go that I would get clutch chatter. I checked the forums for clutch chatter and it seems everyone else that has had this problem when the engine is cold. Mine started doing it after I had been driving a couple of hours. Would Mazda do anything about this even though mine seems to be when the engine is warm and considering I have 12,500 miles?
Also, is it a big hassle to switch the horn. As far as getting to the old one. My dad also has a P5 and said it looked like to get to the horn you would have to remove the front bumper.
Thanks a lot. Merry x-mas to all

I've had the clutch chatter, however my dealer won't fix it....so good luck w/yours. Mine normally does it when cold, but it has also done it in stop-n-go traffic on the interstate...
As far the horn goes...I dunno....anyone???

HOnr is easy. No front bumper removal, just get the upper grill area off and the horn is accessable. I recommend a fiam big boss horn, its plug and play. My thread is in teh appearance section with sound clip.

so it mounts up to the stock horn mounts and uses stock wiring? sounds almost too easy for that awesome sound (hippy)

sorry to hear about your clutch.....my 01 ES 2.0 had that problem during the cold mornings. was the worst feeling for the first couple of miles.....
the horn is an easy to access. just have to take off the upper grill. takes a lot of force to get it off the first time. much easier each additional time.....
