Well I'm not sure what to do here, we bought some 205/55 16's and some wal-mart steelies, but they are rubbing. Tire calc says this is right size but I am wondering if the Wal-mart steelies are the wrong off-set.
Anyone able to clarify for me? If I slap my 205/55 16's on some P5 alloys will that solve my problem? Or despite the calc are these tires too wide?

from the size you have listed they should be fine. I would bet that the steelies are wrong offset. Should be at least a +45

yea the offset sounds like the problem but IDK, it could be something else???

Definitely the wrong offset rim. I am running those size tires with no problem. Try to get a rim with +42mm offset or higher and your problem will be solved.

Depending on the width of the rim you could go lower than +40
Where is it rubbing? on the rear fenders?

I have a set of 16" aftermarket rims that are in PERFECT condition and I'd sell them to you cheap. They're +40mm offset though so they'd still be 'close' to rubbing in the rear. Just let me know - they definitely look infinitely better than steelies.

So then what's the offset of P5 mags? They do work for winter wheels correct? They wouldn't rub correct?

correct, the stock ES/P5 ones will work fine
I think they're +50, plus they're only 6" wide, so they won't come close to rubbing

I picked up the same thing from tire rack, and i thought they were rubbing. but after reading the threads about the crunchy sound our bushings make in the cold weather i assumed it was that. I'm having the klunk fixed this week and i'll have the dealership look at the fenders for evidence.

Yea I got the tire rack set and mine are rubbing...ONly when I turn hard to the right though....No other time does it rub. So I am just not turning that hard to the right:) I need to get it up on the life and see where how how bad it is actually hitting...But so far nothing more than a mild annoyance....After all I only turn that hard when backing out of a parking space...Never moving at a high speed.:)
