I have a problem and I wonder what it may be. After letting the parking brake off, whenever I decelerate, the parking brake indicator light comes on. Once I come to a complete stop, it disappears. It continues to do this almost every time you come to a stop. Any idea what it could be? All I know is that its quite annoying and i'm getting sick of it.

Your brake pads may be getting low. The light tends to come on rather early though, so if you just add a VERY small amount of brake fluid you'll be good for a while.

your fluid is a little low and when you are braking it move away from the sensor and triggers the light

Same thing used to happen with my Escort. Check your brake fluid level. If it's low, try to find the leak. Good luck.

like crazycaker said, your pads are wearing, its normal. Just check the fluid since the clutch and the brakes use the same reservoir for the fluid. I had the same problem at approx 27k miles or so.

it's the break fluid. Same thing was happening to me. I topped it off and now it is good as new.

I had the same issue, checked my fluid and it looked good (just a little bit off the top of the resevior), took it to the dealer, turns out that brake fluid contracts in really cold weather (so they told me), whenever I looked at my fluid it was when my car had already warmed up and the fluid was back to a "normal" level. They topped off the fluid, and no problem since.

I had my brake light coming on too. when I would accelerate, when it was super cold outside. Added about an ounce of fluid - Bingo - problem solved.
