Just ordered a Corksport exhaust for my 2003 ES, just wondering if anyone had already put one on something other than an MSP, and what it sounds like, gains, etc.

Im guessing that it might be loud since a cat is removed.

it's pretty loud on an MSP must be wild on a N/A without the turbo muffling the sound

Unlike on the msp, on the es it still preserves 1 cat. It will be loud but not horribly loud. On the msp it's actually not that loud at all. It's quite smooth and not ricey but turbos work wonders on exhausts. Pdhaudio has this exhaust on his car I believe but he is no longer NA (IIRC)

the exhaust was actually designed ON the ES. It will require no modification- I do have a couple exhaust clips. let me find them

the exhaust IS loud NA.

clip one- the camera is too close to the exhaust so it sounds slightly buzzy since its so loud

thanks for the clip pdh. I wont have it until after the first of the year (they won't be done with their next production run till 1/4/05) but i'm damn excited now for it. How bout the gains on it, anything noticible?

Am I gonna need an 02 Modifier on this exhaust? I think im going to e-mail Corksport right now...wonder if I can just put the cat-back pieces on and leave the cat in for right now

no, you have to install either all, or none- the places it bolts are NOT to factory location, except the first piece.

no im not selling this exhaust, it rocks, and my DP bolts right up :D

so what about the O2 sensor in the 2nd cat, is it still there, or do they supply you with a defeater?

you have an ES- you wont need any o2 changing stuff since your first o2 is in your manifold and the second is just before the corksport attaches. Just rip the stock off, and bolt the CS on, and you're set to go.

sounds good to me, ill post when i get it on. Thanks for the clarification pdh. Sorry to keep bugging you, but was there any retuning of the engine or backfiring once it was on. Only reason I ask is because of losing a cat.

The corksport exhaust showed 8whp gain when I installed it on my 00 ES.

alright, im trying to put the exhaust on as we speak, and i removed all of the stock parts. Everything seems to be bolting up OK except for the part that bolts up to the downpipe, just before where the cat was originally. The manifold studs that I removed from the stock system would be too short when i try to install them on the CS system, as the flange on the exhaust side is too thick (approx 1/4"-3/8"). To those of you who have it installed, how did you overcome this problem, or did CS send you enough hardware to avoid it. Included in my hardware bag were 4 bolts and 4 nuts, as well as 2 gaskets. I don't want to leave my car up on stands anymore than i have to, but any help ASAP would be greatly greatly appreciated!
