Hey guys and gals Im new to this forum, but have been with Protegetech almost from the beginning and most recently on clubprotege. After getting too much flak on club protege I decided to try here on recomendation of Jurgs01, dont know his name but he has an 03 MSP in black mica. Anyway here is my issue. I have a 99 ES with an AEM SRI, AWR header, custom 2.25" SS header back exhaust, magnecor wires with the extended reach JDM plugs and Eibach pro kit springs with KYB struts. My problem is I cant get rid of my CEL. I have replaced both O2 sensors and have put 2 MIL eliminators on the second O2 sensor. I thought maybe one was bad but both appeared to be in working order. Everything was professionally installed but I still cant get rid of the CEL. I see from searching that maybe I need to add a resistor to the mil? I have the pony express performance mil eliminator. Any ideas? And also if worse comes to worse can you disable the CEL light in the dash? Or is this connected to engine management? I.e. if i disable the light will the car go into limp mode? I know some domestic models do that. Thanks for any and all info. Nik

What code is it throwing?

I would assume the header removed the first cat?

Yes it did sorry, the codes have been all over the place first it was 1140? I think indicating no response from the downstream o2 sensor then it was saying the upstream o2 sensor, so now both sensors have been replaced and I am again throwing no respopnse from the downstream. Boy I tell ya every mod you do you think it will be easy and yadda yadda, but at least its mine! Thanks

One other question since I have installed the header and done all the O2 Sensor changes the car semms rough at idle. When its cold its fine but as she warms up I see things like this. When Im stopped the car idles about 900 rpms (warm) it kinda just chugs now I know the heder and exhaust do some of this but every once in awhile the rpms drop but then quickly recover almost liike its gonna die but it never does, think this is tied in with the CEL issue?
