Arrrgghhh...
I hate this day. I put her away today. All wrapped up, tires taken off, sitting on 4 jack stands. Didn't even get a spot in the garage this year. Looks so pitiful.
Now I have to drive my rx-7.... oh well.
How many people have put theirs away already?

It was like 60 degrees here in FL today...I think that's the closest thing we'll get to winter all year. :p

I just put mine away yesterday. It's living in a barn, on the other side of the wall are cows for gods sake! But at least she has company... her roommate is an MG. I hope they get along well.

Why do you put your cars away?

winter is torture to your car, at least in Michigan it is. Plus mine is too low and I have no snow tires. 215/35/18z dont work to well in a couple inches of snow. I miss mine already it has only been two weeks. I am stuck driving this crappy corolla.
oh well it is better than walking.

So snow and ice scratch up the paint or something? Or is the cold bad for the engine too? I've only seen snow about 4 times in my life, so (shrug)

I've only seen snow about 4 times in my life, so (shrug)it's the salt they put on the road that's bad for the car. snow and ice don't really hurt much more than say rain would with its pollutants. ice can scratch as it's hard but you can usually avoid driving so ice hits your paint, except when it sheets on your car but oh well, still not too bad

I'm mostly worried about the salt on the roads. salt=rust.
as far as why i put it away.... I live in Buffalo. do i need to say any more?

With the stock dunlops on the ES/P5 they are terrible in the snow. I bet the 17's on the speed are even worse. With snow tires on my car, the car does great in the snow and i heard the same with the speed. I bet a lowed car would not be good, too! I have only one car, so it has to get used in the winter. I also ski a lot and enjoy driving in the snow......

I drive min all year here in NY. No rust for me. At the end of winter I give the bottom of the car a good power washin. Will be interesting this year because of my drop of around 1.8-2.0". I've had the WW body kit on for as long as it has been out but this is the first winter I will be dropped. Looks like I will be doing the town of Brookhaven a service by plowing there roads for them.(ugh)

Personally I think the rx-7 is one of the best winter cars ever made. Or anyways the most fun. You can't drive fwd in the snow, it's against the rules.

I have been running snow tires for a couple weeks now just waiting for it to snow. I am excited. The car looks like a base Protege with big off road rally looking snow tires hahaha...But still hauls when it needs to even at stock boost for winter....It will have a garage unless something else magically gets parked in there before winter is over.lol

I agree... I used my Thunderpidgeon, and stored the Protege last winter. Why? Because I hate working on cars with bolts rusted in place and other such nonsense that occurs within the first 15 seconds of winter driving in NY. I'm anal about my cars, so it ends up being "easier" for me to have a beater. And why not own extra cars, they always come in handy.
