Heres some shots of the ones I have narrowed it down to. They are going on my Ti Speed.
Also, the falken wheel is a 17x7.5 with a 42mm offset. I want to run the stock 215-45 size tire. Will I have any rubbin goin on?
Hit me with your opinions on these puppys.....

i say the falkens ... i was never of fan of the 6 spoke wheels - they seem to symmetric for me for some reason.
these are pretty good lookin from my perspective: http://www.wheelsnext.com/product.phtml?p=1568
what are you looking for in a wheel besides being able to use the tires you have now?

You can't go wrong with the Koseis...great lightweight racing wheel & they look better than anything else there.

You wouldn't happen to be looking at Edge Racing's site for these, would you? They are literally 5 minutes from my house & they have a great site/selection.

cool, looks like I've got one vote for each I put up, lol.
Black Majik, ya the tdr's and the falkens are from edge racing.
My thing about wheels is, I dont really like the crazy busy lookinn ones. i like a nice clean look.
I really dig the tdrs, but am not sure how the dark anthrecite is gonig to look on the alreadt dark Ti speed. I dig the falken cause I havent really seen anyone running them. But I'm not sure about the fitment on them.

Well, I am not one to say "that sucks" or anything, because its all just personal preference. but what I have seen arround, with the shape of the protege and just spending lots of time looking at cars, I would say a rim with a polished lip. On a titanium speed, definatly a dark center (ie gunmetal) and a polished lip. it should set the color of the car off better than just a silver rim. I have never been a fan of Black rims though.
I will look arround and maybe post a couple personal opinions.
dont get me wrong though. the wheels you picked out are not bad or anything. just a difference in taste I guess.

i would go with a gunmetal or graphite wheel if you have a spicy orange. i just recently got the konig (sp) reasons in graphite and i really like how they look, especially with my cf hood and grille

I like the look of the stock wheels better than any that you posted. If they weren't so heavy I'd say just keep em.

Of the ones you laid out... the tdr are the best looking in my opinion, but i have to agree that you need something with a polished lip to set it out and dark on the inside. i really like the ones Majik threw up there, those will look good on his car.

Now the Falkens look like some factory rims, something off like a '89 cavalier, but that is just my opinion.
Majik, make sure you post some pictures when/if you get those.

wicked, that wheel you first posted are a set I was considering, they arent to pricey and pretty light. they do them in the grey and a silver. Hey anyone with pix of their Ti speed with diffrent wheels? Do feel free to share =)
I like those last 2, the second one in the bronze loooks good. I was tossing the idea of bronze on the Ti....

all of the wheels I posted can be found at www.tires.com (http://www.tires.com) and come in OUR size and offset. you can get any of them in bronze, silver,or that dark metatl color.
only the FNO1R-C come in flat black. 5-Zigen makes wheels very well.

ya, I'm noticing a very large 5zigen following
thats cause in that price range, they are one of the much better brands.
konigs bend,ADR are damn heavy, einke tend to crack, but if you want to spend a little more I would go with the VELOX forged line up,those things are very light, and very well made, the due tend to look a little on the simple side though.

Or a site that has some good prices for em?Rishie quoted me $1150 with shipping & hardware, but I am going to talk to Edge Racing. I can buy lug nuts on my own & I won't have to pay shipping if I buy them locally.
WICKED: I was considering those too...I'll post pics of my Pro Racer GN+ if you post pics of your FN01R-C.

wicked, you think that bronze fighter will look good on the Ti? I think it will either look kick ass or wierd. I think I have narrowed it done to some of the 5zigens...possibly lol. either the fighter, super six, rx6 or the frnco what ever it was lol. Anyone know what the super six or the fighter weighs?
wicked
12-14-2004, 05:23 AM
on the fighter I don't think that is the bronze.5 zigen tends to make thier bronze rather bright.like this
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/product/wheels/zigfn0.br.ang.jpg
the one up there is thier titanium color.
it's unique to 5 zigen.

NONE! you can do so much better!
however, if you are choosing from those above, go with the 1st or 2nd but in 18's. once you have that lip on there, the rims are going to look 1 inch smaller that the actual. IE, 17's will look like 16's..... so go 18!

The stock MSP wheels are sweet as hell. Not something that needs money spent.

I like the OE wheels, but I would rather put them in storedge for a few years, then when I go to sell the MSP I can sell them in perfect condition.
and they are kinda heavy.
jurgs01
12-15-2004, 12:08 AM
I don't care about the weight of the stock wheels when driving around, and when I'm racing I will put on slicks with racing rims (the weight of the back wheels won't matter). I wouldn't upgrade my wheels unless I saw a rim that was substancially better than stock, and the price on most of those is more than I want to pay. All of the upgraded wheels I see people putting on the MSP don't look any better (some even worse) than the stockers. People's tastes are different though so to each his own.

I agree that the racingharts kick ass, and they were produced only for the msp.

I would highly recomend the kosei k1 ts or whatever they are called. At 14 lbs and a gunmetal color. you can not go wrong..
