Its rust around the hub. Just kick the shit out of it, Literally.
Be sure to sand /wirebrush the hub and rim and spray some WD40 on it before you put it back on.

you can hit the inside of the tire with a mallet in a few spots, somtimes that does it, or sometimes let the car down off the jack and the weight of the car will break it loose- as above, its rust on the hub which causes it to bind on there. Apply WD-40 or grease or anti-seize compound to prevent it.

Weird b/c the front ones were not stuck at all but the back ones, holy cow the car was sliding on the jack on the floor.

that is the first time i heard something like this happening.
Granted, i have only replaced my front tires (when it went flat)
but never the rear.

Get a rubber mallet or better yet get a dead blow mallet, rubber mallet with sand or little pellets that deliver more blow. It won't scratch up your rim, and just hit it around. I use it all the time now when I change/rotate my tires. Be careful of using WD40 around your brakes. Make sure that this stuff doesn't get on your brake, or it could be a potential safety hazard.

It really only happens on the back. The hub is different, has more surface contact with the rim.
It happens on my Focus SVT too.

Happens all the time. Nothing a nice boot doesnt take care of.
happens with every car I have ever owned. smack it a few times from behind, and it'll come off. MAke sure rim doesn't fall on ground after hitting it though.

lie on your back behind the car while it's up on the jack.
then kick the inside of the tire on each side.
it will come off.

just fyi, hopefully you are refering to a "jack stand", because if your doing work on your car, you should always put jack stands under it, and lower the car onto them, leaving the car lifted with just a jack is a huge safety risk...
other than that, whenever i've had rims get stuck on me, i just sit back a foot or 2, and kick the wheel in different spots, i try to hit the tire so i wont scratch up the rims, but that usually does it for me...

Crazy, you guys were right, never seen that before and surprised me b/c the fronts weren't stuck at all, but the back man it was hella stuck. Done now, car handles great on winter rubber, nice to be able to drive it a bit now.
We have another problem now tho, anyone else had this, heater fan blows no air on 1, 2, oer 3, bu works as it should on 4.

same thing happened to my roomates cavalier, something to do with the hvac setup, i'd pull the dash apart and check it out (behind the control knobs), if its messed up, fix it, if not, i have no idea :D...

1) I used to put a wooden block up against the rim and smack it with a five pound mallet. Hit twice then rotate 180 degrees and repeat.
2) your heater fan speed is controlled by three resistances connected in series with the motor, speed no. 4 being straight 12V. Except the resistance on #3 speed setting to be shot/open...
