I wrote an email to Mazda telling them about a horrible experience I had at a dealer:
Basically I called the dealer up a week in advance and was told I next Friday was free. I asked about a loaner car, they said no because I had not bought it there. So I informed the person on the phone I talked to that I would have to wait for it, and they said it would not be a problem. So I drive half an hour to the dealership. Get there, the guy is like well the one tech has seven cars in front of yours. blah blah, you cant wait today. I am like so wtf am I supposed to do I drove here and wasted my time. SO he was like if you were 21 i could put you in a loaner, but I cant since your 18. blah blah, can you come in next monday? No, I have exams this was the one time I could come in. He says sorry cant help you. I had to leave before I picked up something and threw it. So I wrote a letter to mazda stating this and how disappointed I was, and that my old dealer would hook me up with a car and everything, no real problems, but they are three hours away now.
The guy from mazda apoligized and is going to send me some gift certificates in the mail, if I had not send mazda the letter they wouldnot have known about it, and I would still be very pissed.
THe problems with my car were a CEL, Front and Rear bushings, subwoofer.

you think mazda gives a shit about you?? They could care less and they bought you off with a $2 bottle of touch up paint and a coupon they probably put for free in Woman's World magazine.

um, he said he got gift certificates, he never said how much they were for... for all we know he could have received 5, $100 gift certificates for his troubles (doubtful)... i'd rather get something, than nothing tho ...

they are 100 dollar worth of certificates. I dont really care if mazda cares about me, but they do care about their name, without taking the five minutes to write this email, I would have been pissed off and without certifactes. I am just saying if you have a bad experience with a dealer, contact mazda usa and at least you could get a certificate or something out of it.

Sounds like you flipped out over typical dealer issues. They would seem to be understaffed most of the time. I assume this way they get the most billable hours out of every tech. Most places want you to leave the car for a day to get typical repairs done.

haha I love the bs about rental cars before 21. I got a few loaners and rentals without problem, they did decline to offer me their insurance, but since I already have my own I can care less....

yeah, the rental company WILL give u a car...as long as u r 18...all mazda has to do is fill out a blue paper saying your car is in the shop

Dealer service departments are always like that. I can't stand them. The problem is that they have 0 incentive to get to your car unless they are on flat-rate, and if that's the case, they rush through it so they can get to the next job. They don't even care whose car it is or what order it came in, just which car will make them the most money in a given amount of time.

Yes I did sort of flip out on them. Luckily I did not flip out at the dealership. I just left cursing at them. I was just extremely pissed becuase there was so much that I needed to do and I was being f'd around with. I seriously was feeling the urge to pick something up, throw it and walk out. But then I would have had a visit from the po's.

It's just not worth getting worked up over. Squeeky wheel gets the grease though right? You'll get some oil change coupons or something and that will be a bonus.

(hah)
But since I know mazda is reading this, I AM KIDDING. (Otherwise i have no doubt that i would be arrested tonight in the ongoing mazda NA conspiracy to fuck me...)

The dealership has control who they give their loaners out to. The Rental company has control of who gets their rental cars. For ex. I can only get a Loaner if my car breaks down, because the Rental compan we deal with doesn't allow under 25.
Spooled- your right. I rush through every job because I don't care and when the car comes back in for the same problem it doesn't bother me I have to do it for free. Grow up.

Mazda Service=SUCKS ASS LIKE A 2 DOLLAR WHORE. Mazda N/A=Asshole's that dont care after the sale, just like the STEALERSHIPS. Mazda Quality=Shaky at best, the MSP seems to be a failure, with the issues on the forum, and overrating the RX-8 was just stupid. Lets see what issues pop up with the 3 and 6 and go from there. :D

you are a rare exception :(, i know many mechanics, some that work at dealerships (no mazda's), they all enjoy bragging about how they did a 4 hr job in a half hr and got paid for it, its kinda sad, but at the same time, if it is a compitent mechanic who actually *can* get the work done faster than the preset time, go for it, but for the most part i dont have much faith in most mechanics, especially since when i took some classes to become certified i already knew more about cars than half of the instructors, and dont even get me started on the students, biggest group of fucktards i'd ever seen!!! and it really made me think twice about sending my car somewhere to get fixed knowing that some of these idiots were ALREADY certified, and still didn't know shit...
