Anyone tried mounting a different amp on the stock rack?

Well? Would it even be possible to mount a aftermarket amp on the stock rack? I have a Alpine MRD-300 off my old car that I would like to use, but i'm not sure if its even possible. I was also going to put in a 4 ohm JL 8" W0 too... I'm pretty sure thats PnP. But is the amp even a possibility or should I just leave well enough alone?

Of course it's possible, unless it's too big. You just have to make sure you have secure mounting.

I had a Fosgate amp in mine, but the wires are a little on the small side for when you start upping the power on the amps. Mine kept overloading the amp and overheating. I upgraded the power and ground cables and have had no problems since.
