yes, my gf finally bugged me enough to get my *ss online and started looking for answers :D . anywho - her airbag light wouldn't go off today - just kept blinking the entire way. what does that mean? (and i did stfa - didn't find much)

It means the airbag sensors are bad, most likely. I believe we have three in the car. One in the front bumper area, one at the firewall/steering column, and one in the rear ... or is it the driver's side, I cant remember.

If the light is on, and the system has not deployed, then one of the sensors is telling the CPU that it's not working properly.

If you dont feel like taking it to a dealer, take it to a Pep Boys /Auto Zone type place and have them plug it into an OBD II reader for free to see what the code is. It will tell you which sensor is bad.

airbags are safety concern. it WILL be fixed for NO cost, unless Mazda wants to pay a million dollar law suit down the road...

the car is out of warranty... will that still be covered by teh stealer?

safety equipment --> air bags should always be covered, regardless.

our van has 97000 miles and is 4 years out of the basic warranty and when the clockspring went bad, they replaced it free.

then the clockspring went bad AGAIN and another free replacement.

looks like mazdas airbag warranty is 60months, 60,000miles.

how many times does it blink.. my car blinked 7 times and it was the SRS module.

it will, the light comes on cause something is faulty and broken..
