(pullup) After almost giving up on our shit ECU's and someone making an aftermarket chip than doesn't cost 800 fucking dollars!(assholes) (cool) I finally found a guy here in Tulsa that used to work for Mazda, has all the codes, and the computer to reprogram my ECU. Now I'm asking my fellow MSP owners, if you could have 3 things done to your ECU, what would they be? (pullup)

It's a good ECU, the tune is not that great....and the code is pretty much unknown.

too bad we don't have Revo

I would give my ECU artificial intelligence, make it blue, and put guns on it.

u dont have 3 options, u have 2.
old map or new map.

3rd option is to throw your ECU in the trash.

Aren't you the tenth person who has come here promising this? Not one has panned out yet.

what's the big deal with reprogramming anyway??
u'll never get anything other than the 2 maps that mazda (ford) designed for this car.
both suk.

mazda will never release the code to any other company.....say like hondata.....and these ECU's are coded so that noone is able to get into them.

many companies tried, big companies.
especially the RX-8 ECU.....which although runs a better program, is also protected like ours.
which is also the reason that noone has ever been able to succesfully turbo the Renesis.

if you could get it to suck you off while you drive, you might have better luck with that endeavor instead.

Instead of offering no actual help to this poor fellow who is making an honest effort to help us out...

(1) better base maps (Similar to a unichip map)
(2) speed limiter removed
(3) 2 or 3 stage launch mode (If they can do it to a 1991 Eclipse ecu, it should be possible on ours...)

What do you mean by number 3? Like a setting for sport and economy driving? How would you switch between them?

u guys are not understanding.
U WILL NOT BRAKE THE CODE.
.....sorry, but that's the truth.

Its like a stutter box. You arm it by putting in the clutch, ebrake on and then release it, and then you are in "launch mode"

Basically you can floor the car and it will keep it at lets say 3500 rpm's regarless of how hard you depress the accelerator. When you release the clutch you have a "perfect launch" and on dsms it keeps your rpms down until you reach a certain speed (for fwd to reduce spinning) and then upon you puttin in the cltuch it kicks out of launch mode and allows you to go into WOT... Make your launches much easier and reliable...

But I agree the code would be allmost impossible to break...

It's not impossible. Nothing along these lines is impossible. The more probable is that no real reverser has even attempted. *NOTE* I said "reverser" someone who actually reverses code for a living.

I need a reprogrammed ECU for my ES. I have the MSP turbo setup and the old MSP ECU, need to get it flashed way too much hesitation, but this may also be a posibility. I also have my old ES ECU still.

Dr.Sound

dude, he probably has codes to be able to program the ecu......it's like having CD's and installing them on your computer.........
but the actuall code of the program is kept under mazdas strict supervision.

people who work with it sign confidentiality agreements.....and i dont think any of them will risk their job so that 100 or so people can re-tune their cars.

People make emulators for video game systems. Game companies design the systems to deter such behavior, but people always find a way.

I guess the amount of hackers out there interested in games outweighs the number that is interested in cars though. If the binary files for at least the two different flashes were somehow available, you could analyze the differences as a starting place for figuring out what all the values in the flash are. From there you could start creating your own flashes.

i think they should. i'd send them a thank you card (kiss) .

i saw the MSP that was used to develop the flash.
and i think the guy that designed the flash is the only one who could actually change it to anything he wants.

that car drove better than any MSP i've ever been in (but only about 10% of his adjustment made it to the actual flash that mazda released).

what i want is the callaway ECU for MSP.....the original ecu that this car was designed for.
stock boost was 9psi. it had 200whp stock. then mazda fucked it up.
there is one callaway ECU out there, and that car is quick as hell, even in its stock form.

did i mention that callaway originally designed MSP to have hard pipes??
