tensmission problem

I have a 1986 323. I need to check manual tranny fluid & can't find check plug.

Look on the side of the tranny facing the firewall. There will be a bolt in the side of the tranny. Take it out, and stick your pinky finger in it. There is no dipstick on the manual.
You should feel the fluid just below the level of the hole. When you fill the manual, just fill it til a bit spills out the hole, you're done.
