there are no specific lambo door kits for the Protege. You need to get universal ones. But please don't do this. it doesn't look good on 4-door cars.

Argh can't remember his name but there was a member here who had the kit on his...grr I'll think of it sometime.
It looked "ok" but really weren't practically made getting in and out hard as they don't swing all the way.

what u mean by suicide doors ,?!?!??!?!They are doors that open backwards, much like the rear doors on the Rx8. Kinda of called suicide cause if you feel/jump out the door would smack you.

NO they don't but you can get them made from a shop, though it is expensive (there was a shop in Richmond VA that did them for Focus and such=1.5kish). It isn't as simple as using the lambo doors since a completely different hinge is built and requires wedding and such.

ask Mdaghost103 here on forums. He owns a shop and knows few people who would be able to get the front doors converted to lambo doors (as Ive seen on one protege)

ok,ok people, calm down about the lambo doors. Shane was right, There is a 2000 Protege that has them, It is Mine !

1. About it hitting things and rusting, my doors are not hitting anything, they line up perfect. You can put a ruler on the fender to the door and it will be straight on. The lines between the front/back door are even from top to bottom, there is no water problems, no air leaks, it doesn't fly off when doing 100mph down the road with the windows up or down.

2. When I did my kit way back when, mid 2003 ( i think, it was after carlisle I know ) , there was not a kit for the protege, I did buy a kit from Decah who makes one now. In a sense all they did was do what I did, just modify the holes that come with the kit.

3. It does take some time to install them, my friend and I spent 20hrs for both doors. And you will need more wire extensions then what they give you, I think it was like 14wires on Drivers side, 8 on the passenger side ( thats with full power ).

4. There wasn't much cutting unless you wanted to. All you had to do was roll the inner fender where the door hinges are. There is about a 1/2inch lip that will prevent the hinge from coming out on the level. I cut my lip off and thats that. You can take the fender off with about 6-7bolts, it was required to get the kit in. Also to make it easier for the kit so it doesn't sit weird, you might want to level out the body of the car. THe frame part right under the fender where the kit will rest on the body, there is like 3 bumps that will prevent the kit from sitting level on the car frame. 30secs with a metal hammer, finished.

5. Yes, when I bought the kit it did cost me 1800$, and 200$ worth of machine time to adjust the holes by 3/32inch. The civic/integra kit is about 1400$, but I figure not to many people are getting the protege kit because I have yet to see another in person ( and sorry I didn't make it to the show with the P5 above)

6. There are other lambo door kits out there, the AUTOLOC kit is universal and is crap, if you want a gas shock that is as big as your middle finger you go ahead and buy it. I have seen costless cars with this kit install, it is sh*t. And if you are thinking about the motorized one, it has been said by several automotive leaders, along with AUTOLOC themselves( i have the recorded conversation if you want to here it, kidding, but I have asked them about it) , if you are using the car for daily driving the motor will burn up to fast for it, they recommend it only for show cars.

7. There are several kits out there, like Vertical Doors Kit , verticaldoors.com, I have seen another but the name escapes me, but these kits are just a knock off of Decah which was the first to put the kit out.

8. Yes, It does look different on a 4dr, I have heard + / - about it. And yes, My car ( right now ) just has the front with lambo, back stock ( right now ) . I just like it for attention, don't see a car with lambo doors to often unless you happen to own a lamboghini.

9. And it isn't super hard to get in them, just go in at an angle. Takes me no time at all, dont fall out, roll out, dont climb out the window, out the back. I mean if you have a huge beer gut your not getting it. ( Note: For the Guys this is a dating advantage, Girl Cant Fit You Must Aquit, Vertical Door Tests as my friends know )
